 [SPEC]The Numb3rs game
theory

There is a alot of refrences with numbers that might be hints that it might be apart of clues for 01-18-08.

For example the contact number for Tagaruto starts with 1-188 (01-18-0Cool
or the words slusho, mitten, hammer and chesse has 6 letters in it and there are six flavors of slusho also six pictures on the 01-18-08 website and you have to wait six minuets exactly to hear the roar and finally for now, J.J. Abrams started this whole thing in July and not counting July 07 from Aug 07 till Jan 08 is exactly six months in btween.

is it me or these just put out there to confuse us or put there to for us to figure it out? Confused

Oy.

Yes, the numbers 1-18-08 and 6 are referenced a lot throughout this ARG (not to mention my adress is 1811 :-p that scared me once I realized it heheh).

It is unclear what symbolism these numbers have as of yet, if they have one at all. Stick with us throughout the ARG and you'll probably find out.

Was wondering if anyone else was thinking about the numbers thing too. This is what I have dug up... I can make anything of it just some stuff that kinda... maybe might be usefull though most likely not. But hey someone with more brains then me might pull something out of it.

All info is from wikipedia.org

The Number "6"

Atomic number of Carbon (almost all life is carbon based)

6 in binary = 0110

In some religions 6 represents man and imperfection and 7 is God and perfection (If in game makes the "Slusho is people" happy talk all the more creepy)

6 is related to the number of the beast. (not sure it relevant but with so many 6's showing up maybe) Dunno

The Number "7"

The number of carbon atoms in heptane, a hydrocarbon. (Maybe related to the oil drilling?)

And since it has been hinted that a japanese toy may have been an inspiration for the movie. Some misc Japanese Animes with the number 7 (Think JJ mentioned a trip to a toy store in Japan in an interview before the convention) <<<I can't remember where I read this if some knows where the article is please post.

• The anime Eureka Seven.
• The character 7 (Nana) and the organisation Septimal Moon in Loveless (manga).
• Team 7 consists of the main characters in Naruto: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, Kakashi Hatake, and Sakura Haruno.
• In the One Piece series, the Shichibukai (literally, "Seven Military Seas", known in the English versions as the "Seven Warlords of the Sea") are seven powerful pirates who work for the government.
• In the Dragon Ball series, there are 7 Dragon Balls that can grant any wish.
• In the InuYasha series, the Shichinintai are, as their name says, a band of seven mercenaries.
• In the Nana series, there are many recurrent instances of the number seven ("nana" is the Japanese numeral for the English "seven"), including the name of both main characters.

Doubles
in genetics
• Gene duplication, a process which can result in free mutation
• Chromosomal duplication, which can cause Bloom and Rett syndrome
• Polyploidy, a phenomenon also known as ancient genome duplication
• DNA is a double helix

Another little oddity probably nuthin' but had a friend who went to an Apple store and he mentioned that "Through the Looking Glass" from season 3 of Lost was on the Demo iPhones might be something since apple is only one with the trailer

Don't forget the Seven Deadly Sins. Lust, gluttony, greed, pride, anger, sloth, and envy. Sound like anyone we know?

OMG, this is a movie about The Gate from Fullmetal Alchemist!
Very Happy

If there's one thing Mr. Abrams and company know how to handle, it's the duality of man, and the workings of a persons beliefs. Sin represented in such a physical way would be right up his alley. And he doesn't really have three or four seasons to flesh these folks out, so maybe a very broad stereotype of each sin?

So, Jamie is lust?
Hawk is sloth?
Is Lena envy?
Assign some of the characters to sins, and let's see just how well it all matches up.

I fooled around with this before the new web sites, just for a laugh.

JJ Hawkins "Hawk" = Sloth
Jamie Lascano = Lust
LenaDia = Pride "I'm the next big thing in fashion design, and it's just a matter of time before the rest of the world figures that out" and the High Fashion thing.
Beth = Anger, for the sole reason that she has the word rage right on her myspace. (in that music video)
Hud=gluttony

Jamie=Lust
Hawk=Sloth
Lena=Envy
Lil=Greed
Hud=Gluttony
Beth=Pride
Robbie=Anger

I think in the next few weeks, we're going to see some more action in the myspace pages, and some very interesting in-fighting with these people. We know Huds a chow hound, Hawks a lazy bum, Lena sounds like a jealous little kid in some of her posts, Jamie is an absolute hose hound, Beth is too stuck up to even think about Rob, a normal guy from Minnesota, who also seems like he's glaring through the lens in some of his photos, and i think Lil is an absolute social climber, check her photos, all the ritziest places, where she can be seen.

.02 in the pot.....

P.S. One of Rob's fav bands is Flogging Molly, one of their top five tracks, The Seven Deadly Sins.

I know I've posted this before, but while we're talking about 6's, I thought I should add this once again:

Quote:
While it is common to think of there being four seasons, according to Gen. 9:22 the seasons number six. . . We also see the number six in our six pointed star, the six directions in nature (north, south, east, west, up, down), and six visible colors in the rainbow. Six is the balance and beauty of the physical world.

It's from http://telshemesh.org/tevet/ritual_for_the_sixth_night_of_chanukah.html

...about the 6th night of Chanukah (which falls on Dec. 9 this year - the day jamie is supposed to open her 'gift' from Teddy). Ok, ok, I'll never mention it again. Sorry - I just dig the quote, that's all.

Also, as long as we're playing 7 Deadly Sins:

Ginger = Lust
Mary Ann = Envy
Mr. Howel = Greed
Mrs. Howl = Pride
Skipper = Wrath (GilliGAN!)
Professor = Sloth (b/c he could fashion a way of the island, but he never does)
Gilligan = Gluttony (b/c he'll do anything for a coconut cream pie)

I'm just sayin'

Now i'm giggling. Thanks Mel, woke up the dogs. Mad

Bringing this over from another thread, while we're on this subject...Hi, been lurking for a little bit, and really like what you all have shared here. Kinda jumped for joy when i found this thread, though. Now i can vent what's been on my mind to smaller amounts of ridicule than usual.
The number 7: 7 friends, all who may or may not be ingesting the drink Slusho. The slogan pushing people to try and drink more than 6. The fact that most of the people who have consumed just one Slusho have found an elevated sense of awareness and strength, or a connection to their more basic animal being. In a few different instances, religious belief suggests that reaching the seventh level of awareness, or breaking their seventh chakra, or breaking the seventh seal, is a sign of the coming apocalypse. The Beast rising from the depths, and immediately destroying the whore of Babylon, before laying waste and being brought low by the second coming( i'm paraphrasing, bear with me. Confused ) All sounds a little like the trailer to me. Is JJ and company writing a vision of the end of days, with a theme that we can all relate to... big monster destroying New York, and maybe the world, because of our incessant greed, gluttony, over-consumption, et all.

As far as I know, despite what De La Soul says, SEVEN is the "magic number." First, the slogan - "you can't drink just six" means you gotta drink seven; and, second, the people at the old folks' home were served SEVEN drinks before they all went 'funny' ala Cocoon. And, last and definitely least, there are 7 myspace characters.

Hurley: where did you read about someone drinking just one Slusho and feeling the "Whammy!" (-Champ Kind) effect?

I was probably refering to the article about the baseball team, don't think it ever mentioned how many the kids ingested, just said they were full of strength. Had to paraphrase, cause as much as i'm digging this game, my brain is mush right now.

Gotcha. I just checked it again, and they don't say anything at all about Slusho - about how many were drunk, or even that any were drunk at all. They just say that the Nishio Dragons had to forfeit, etc.

It may be that this baseball story is just a red herring, that it doesn't have anything to do with Slusho. I'd like to believe otherwise, but there's no mention of Slusho.

In a similar vein, have the myspace characters been showing any signs of grandeur, similar to the little leaguers? Jamie's crazy about Teddy, and Rob seems to (maybe) be making a move on Beth; but, that's all pretty standard myspace fare, I'd imagine. Does anyone see anything that may point to the effects of (seven) Slusho(s) in any of the myspace characters?
