[META] 1-18-08 ripoff (100%) check this out...seriously this was posted on imdb forums BUT WAIT before u close this window check this out:
so I actually looked up this film and it turns out to be a 100% ripoff of 1-18-08 (cloverfield) but not only that; this "studio" has been consistently copying...no abusing, raping and reproducing all the shit that has been squeezing out of Hollywood over the last couple of years. its hilarious...just check these guys out! they seriously made a "transmorphers" movie after they finished the "hitchhiker" hahahaha.
• "tokyo - 1-18-08 by AFM films"
maybe people from the US know these guys n their flicks, but I as an European have never heard of any of these 100% ripoffs. its embarrassing! which director or actor would voluntarily participate in such things?

Re: 1-18-08 ripoff (100%) check this out...seriously I work at Blockbuster.. they always release them right before the real ones come out, people CONSTANTLY buy them thinking it's the real movie.. im pretty sure that's their marketing scheme.

It honestly amazes me how quick they do rip-off movies to cash in on...or try to.
Honestly this reminds me of a topic i was gonna make a few days ago...called:WILL YOU BUY THE BOOTLEG? .
Not the same thing as a rip off i know...but bootleggers are as bad as the rip off artists..heck even worse to me...I was at a friends house and he had a copy of War(jet li,jason statham)I said to em when that come out?He replied it's not in theatres yet..it's a russian bootleg.
Dang you bootleggers.......
Needless to say not only will i not be buying the bootleg but i'll probably see this movie in theatres as many as I saw the 3rd star wars(4 or 5 times, way too many I know).
Just thought i'd ramble a sec wit ya'll.......

If you're looking for an entertaining waste of an hour or so, check out IMDB's discussion board for Transmorphers. Apparently, the director has posted on there, and he seems like a genuinely funny guy who likes to ridicule the (mostly) inarticulate masses who post on there. It's clear that he has a passion for making films, and I'd actually venture to say with a decent budget, his passion alone could potentially translate into a decent film.

I might see that 1.18.08 rip-off just for a good laugh. But I did actually see Snakes on a Train and it was just awful. It took itself way too seriously and didn't even try to be funny.

So both the original and it's knckoff were massive wastes of money, eh?
Talk about trying to copy a turd pie...

Both were pretty much shit.
I mean, Snakes on A Plane at least gave me a few laughs here and there, but the ending of Snakes on a Train involved a woman turning into a giant snake which then eats the train before it gets sucked up in a tornado.
WTF? And this all happens in about 60 seconds.
But I might see this just to see what they do with the 1.18.08 mystery and plot.

It's funny now, but after sitting through that crap-fest it wasn't funny at all.
