It only really sounds like the monster's roar on the base levels... and that's leaving out that that was heard under water compared to the roar in the movie heard in normal air.

True. But its got a similar pattern, im wondering if the bloop is what the monsters roar would sound like underwater.

I know everyone here wants people to quote sources. I am not gonna do that, so you can take this info if you want. Im not even sure if it helps. It just might shed light on the film's plot. But someone I know, who has a strong tie to the film told me it's "Godzilla meets Escape from New York"

The individual wont say another word. He/She said it's gonna be very cool. We all knew it was going to be Godzilla-esque, with the monster and all that, but the Escape from new York part sounds interesting. Does this mean people are trying to leave New York but cant for some reason? Obviously if there is a huge monster attacking the city everyone will try and leave, but in the Film Escape from New York you cant leave the city. Maybe there is a quarantine.

Just throwing it out there. I dont even know if its interesting to anyone else or not.

It sounds great so far to me (I like both franchises).

The Escape from New York part could simply mean people are trying to leave the island, but military forces have it quarantined and to get out they have to sneak out.

Confused Forgive my sceptisism, but I hope the source isnt referring to the amusing mish mash trailer incorporating "our movie" with "I am legend", that shows the bridges being taken out by fighter planes! Thus leaving the inhabitants trapped on the island!

speaking of being stuck on an island, "Hurley where's Charlie?" Wink

No Dust, you were RIGHT to start your own thread because your thoughts are YOUR OWN. Not everything you say has to be forced into being an addendum to someone else's thoughts on someone else's thread. You've refreshed this issue by making a new thread on it. Thank you.

I can assure you, that the source could not have possibly mistaken "Cloverfield" with "I Am Legend"

The information I was given was previous to the release of the Cloverfield Teaser Trailer.

I dont think this sheds any real light. I was just seeing if the Escape from New York part put ideas into other people's heads

Smile Then I apologise! Whilst the idea is pretty cool, I WAS thinking that you were given that information recently, and as such someone on youtube had posted a fake (though very well done) trailer that was revealed to be a compilation of our movie and the will smith I am legend, on that trailer the bridges were shot out leaving new yorkers stranded! and I (wrongly now) assumed that they were alluding to that! Smile
I'll bear this in mind now, thanks!

yeah i saw that trailer too, pretty cool. But yeah i recognized the I am legend parts.

No I talked to my source before I knew what cloverfield was. And once the mystery built up, and that kick ass teaser trailer, and the fact that I was given some info on the film before hand (agreed a very small, bit of info that tells me nothing about the film) I felt compelled to start looking into it.
