As i said earlier in this thread, it seems that the people controlling the viral portion of this game have been flying by the seat of their pants.

1. Slusho when it first went up.
2. 1-18-08.com forwarding to Paramount in order to add a sound file?
3. Being able to hack into Jamie's photobucket.
4. The subsidiary links on Tagruato being dead links to companies that are suppose to be relevant to the game.
5. Bold Futura putting up a site for a few hours that obviously isn't finished (spelling errors, library files not removed).

It does make one wish that they had a handbook or program to keep up with what's supposed to happen. Unfortunately that's not the case here, the people in charge of the viral marketing either don't have a clear plan of how they intend to market this movie or are deliberately trying to confuse us. Quiet honestly I expected it to be much more organized.

They've never had such glaring continuity errors as this site does.
They've never had links that were truly 'dead' (when clicked do absolutely nothing), they all were loopbacks (all 'dead end' links on Tagruato) or caused some other feedback (text bubbles on Slusho).
They've never used a wholesale template by someone else. Design motif would appear to be very important to them. Brand recognition is important to any franchise.

I'd say it's clear the gamejacker yanked the site, after so many errors were found that need fixed very badly. I also suspect that the template was ripped - meaning not paid for, and hence stolen. I can easily see someone being willing to pay up to $100 to create a clever gamejack, especially if they could find ways to exploit that for their own gain. A hint to all of you who emailed the site - did you ever see a privacy policy? If you didn't have spam issues before, you think you might now?

I'm lucky. When I first got into ARGs, one of the first advice someone gave me was: Open a new email account, just for ARGing. So more spam in that account can't hurt me. I'm already recieveing several weekly reports on cheap black magic tools, time travel, ghost hunting and free viagra.

So THAT'S where it's suppose to be?

Unfortunately it isn't on my screen. just the bottom row of those buttons.
My screen doesn't show the top row with that search link in it. weird.

If you look closely at that screen capture you'll notice how it gets pixelated around the area where the search should be. So obviously hmg faked it in order to be able not to search. Wink Just kidding, just kidding. It surely is a browser problem. I'd recomend safari, but I'm not sure if that's good for PC's.

That's rediculous. We weren't supposed to find it yet?

They put up a version saying "We will be up and running soon", or something along those lines.

That assumes we found it and they were already updating for us.

And no, this is not IG for reasons stated throughout this ENTIRE thread.

Still has a pretty prominent misspelling on the main page, which leads me to maintain my belief that it is, in fact a gamejack.

Tagruato still doesnt link to it as well, although I'm not seeing the misspelling (but I could have missed it)

While it does look proffesional now, and is a much better designed gamejack than before, I think we can assume that due to the recent changes in site design and already proven gamejack, it is obviously out of game no matter what it does.

The only thing that will save it now is linking to tagruato.

As of right now, I'm thinking this is definitely OOG for multiple reasons, but still, whoever created this deserves a high-five for creatingsuch a great looking site. I really wish I could believe this. Sad

I saw that the site had changed last night.
I didn't want to post anything about it, because it's still screaming fake.
The same incorrect timeline of events is used, as is the 'Hands Initiative' entries about things already done in the past.
As Kraker pointed out, still not linked to the Tagruato site.

After reading a bit at the wiki, this thing fails the test for IG sites anyway.
It was created after the date when we discovered the Tagruato site. If it's not clear why that makes it OOG, I'll explain...
If the only people that know about the company name are the people creating the game, then they are the only ones to know that it could be useful as a domain name. This being the case, if a site is intended to be made it is purchased BEFORE the information leading to it is made public. That means it should be bought on the same date, or a date preceding the one upon which the site giving us the information is purchased.

Oh, and the really stupid thing here...
This site actually fails that test miserably, because that company name has been associated with the Slusho trademark and known to use since back in July. See here about it. Based on that, if this site was IG, it could and should have been purchased and posted before the Tagruato site.

...I think the creator of this site might be having a look at what us at uf think of his site...

Anyway, has anyone tried the contact details to see what they come back with?
