thats the route I used-I told her that the name on the ID matched hers from her myspace and thats how I found her...and that her pic resembles the one on the licence, but I couldn't be sure, so I requested that she tell me something about the contents of purse in order for me to return it

Not to anger anyone - but here's a joke.

Maybe Jamie's stolen belongings are in the gift box and Teddy sent it to her from the future.

Anyway to be honest I think the whole stolen purse thing seems like it was an intentional thievery by the ex. I think the ex would steal it to get the dirt on Jamie and what was going on between her/her ex/the s/him in the bed - various clubbers whom Jamie doesn't remember sleeping next too, not to mention just be a general PITA. Then again she might have gotten so wasted she just left her purse somewhere.

I like the idea of it being in a Lost & Found at Light or The Bowery. Maybe if you go there or call and ask for that stuff, they'll tell you something - I dunno.

And, yeah, I don't think the ex took it - I think Jamie just lost her purse, 'cuz she was drunk.

Then again, another possibility is that she didn't lose her purse at all - that she's lying about that. She could just be trying to cover her tracks for not calling/texting Teddy the night before - she did say she "didn't.. couldn't" call him. Like she forgot her cover story for a second.
