I AM DONE

sorry, guys...as pleasant as it has been the last few days 48 forums, i know when im not wanted

I am posting this because it is likely it will be deleted and wanted it on record how they REALLY feel about us, I removed most the names, but you can figure the worst ones come from Icarus. Its disappointing that some took the opportunity to jump on it.

Post subject: Catering to uF.

I've never been one to mince words, sugar coat or have fear of hurting someone's feelings.

If I hurt your feelings that means I'm doing my job correctly.

Trailmaster, take this how you will and do with it what you will, but a lot of you should have seen this coming.

I've said since the beginning that I dislike uF and I refuse to work with them. I'm standing by that statement.

If you've noticed, I haven't really been playing or solving anything. I've made a couple posts here and there, joking around.

uF, you're good at what you do, I'm not taking that away from you, but uhm .. there's this thing called .. oh .. I dunno ..

We were here first.

This has become all about you, and we've been put on the back burner. Our soul purpose was to get you guys ready.

We had to give you an orientation, put everything all nice and neat for you.

It was never fùcking nice and neat for us, we had to discover this shìt.

All the spirits/hardware/gods/software/whatever-the-fùck-they-really-are-called are catering to uF, and making sure their time here is luxurious.

Fùck that, fùck uF and fùck anyone who thinks otherwise.

Read this while you can because I'm sure Trailmaster will delete it.

Bring on the negative karma.

Icarus I agree with you..although I dont mind working with the ufers..it is true..we didnt have it easy and had to figure all this poopsicle out the hard way spending hours of our time to crack the puzzles that were thrown at us..I dont mind catching the newbies up to speed..

Quote:
i agree wholeheartedly. We were thrown in at the deep end and thank god most of us swam. It's been hard finding all this information so everyone understands what's going on, and then we hand it to you guys.

I'm feeling a bit dejected here as well.

Quote:
I aggree with you Icarus, but I am not enough of an assh0le to want to take my ball and go home like you are. And yeah I am starting some crap cause I am in a bad mood.

I like the uFers. They are already contributing, and seem like good people. I look forward to working with you guys.

It's fùcking disgusting when we're outnumbered by uF members on this forum.

It's not really that big of a deal to me in all honesty. It's just weird for me to not know everyone anymore. Maybe this will change with time. shrug

i'm startin to feel like a lurker on this board. by the time i catch up, everything's been done

what are you, twelve?

when interweb geeks get terratorial...LOOK OUT

seriously dude, im not even a uf'er --this is the FIRST game have made an effort to participate in a group--usually i do it on my own, and have managed quite nicely--but this time i thought it would be sweet to actually contribute something

i'm sorry to contribute???

as grateful as i am the compilation of all the information, i never understood why it was so necessary--if the boards had been unlocked to begin with we, or at least I, would have caught up fine

and it's NOT like ANY of you lurked UF and got some tidbits from us

way to have a power trip

but if this is the concensus--that we are just feeding off of what you have dished out on a silver platter, then i bid you a wholehearted ADIEU...

(ill be fine on my own--as i have in the past)

and seriously, this anxiety that we are solving everything....the only thing that has been solved has been one lousy code craking by will...WHO WAS HERE LIKE ALL ALONG!!!

Will just got here, and as far as I'm concerned, get the fùck out, we don't need you.

I am done, done, done

you could have saved it

Honestly, I really wouldn't blame Trailmaster - he's trying to handle an explosion in an in-character way. Unfortunately, the way this has been smelling since that IRC chat I popped in on last week, this is not something that being treated IC is going to help. He's kinda stuck.

Here it is: The Bones backscenes team put vids and clues in MULTIPLE zones of a VERY GODDAMN BIG internet. It's there to be stumbled on, and people are guided to it, often based on previous involvement in ARGs. Unfiction isn't the only place to go, but it's a big place, it creates buzz, and it gets involvement. Lots of it, generally.

I've watched the vids, and I've looked at the puzzle pieces, and I read the blog. That's a lot of work in that, and it wasn't done for, I'm sorry, a dozen folks in a hidey hole playing "We're the cool kids!" That's not teamwork, anyway. I'm not going to speak for the people behind the ARG and say that they did it for unfiction either.

Much likelier, they are doing it for larger scale promotion, for getting people involved and interested beyond mere promotion, and for fun. ARGs are not meant to be work, or politics, though like many things, I see it tends to sometimes warp that way. It is not fun for ANYONE when bad scenes like this happen. It's not mature, it's not helpful, it deters interest, and it frustrates your puppetmasters.

You want this to work? Don't pout in a corner because you don't want to make more badges for your Scooby gang. Pull together into real teamwork, and shove your ego back where it belongs. It. Is. A. Game.

-I am no PM, nor a frequent ARGer, but I did dev/events/liaison work for a major commercial text-MUD, so speaking from experience, I'll buy a can of pig snouts if there isn't a PM banging his head on the table listening to this king of the hill shit.

Edit: I should make it clear that I notice one primary shitstirrer there and I am not trying to insult anyone that's been involved prior to the forums being opened to others. I can understand the concerns of anyone who thinks their contributions might get buried under a major onslaught of newcomers - that's sane and normal, and I hope it doesn't happen. The other team did jump this first, and a lot of them did a lot a work, and I'd like to see them recognized as the real trailblazers.

no i do blame the pm

he/she created the problem by the WAY he/she put the two groups together which was bound to create resentment on team ones part--and for several other aggravating scenarious that he/she created which for me SUCKED the life out of the game

yes, it is a game

which i have stuck with when several times my gut said to drop it as the play was being micromanaged, boundaries were crossed, the tone was turning ugly....all i am saying is...i stuck it out AND regret it

im not pouting

im moving on

Fair enough, and I don't blame you and I won't wheedle at you - I understand very well. Dunno how much I'll get involved m'self, not that I am a major resource loss.

The few who have spoken against you do not represent the majority of the group.

The issue has been resolved. Icarus has removed himself.

I and the majority of the group welcome all who are willing to stand with us and move ahead together, united.

I apologize to anyone who was offended. The actions of a few can be destructive to the group as whole. But issues can be resolved. The only people who are not welcome in the group are those who cannot work together as a team. We stand together or fall apart. The choice is yours. Anyone willing can still be apart of the team. And we will try to make sure nothing like this happens again. I fight for the group. Not individual egos.

Appreciate your reply on that. Like I said, I really do understand the concerns of everyone that was in the forum beforehand asides Icarus. It can be really frustrating when you're worried your voice is going to get drowned out.

Right now a lot of people are learning about ARGs from watching the Cloverfield mess, and that is so the wrong lessonplan. I've watched a couple of other big, organized ARGs, and while those can also be really big and daunting to follow, there's enough teamwork groups that people can feel they can contribute and not get lost.

Not that dramas aren't always possible, but, well.
