Well if you had a conference tomorrow on God knows what I think you'd be pretty busy as well... My guess is once the "conference" is over at Greenbriar you'll be hearing from him again...

No news on the hostage negotiation front? I wonder if Howard should know, although knowing Howard, he'd probably just plaster it on the front page ("no more secrets", right?) and whine about how he can't be of any help.

Well, Noyb, we're at another interlude. Book 2 ended or so Schmeldritch says so. So it might be a while before we hear from them all again. When book 1 ended, we did a great job of updating the wiki page. I'm a little lost when dealing with the wiki but I can figure it out if someone gets the ball rolling. I think we should again update the wiki page with the currents.

So by this you mean you've emailed Peter back regarding that last email (the one where he more-or-less admitted having Art and Devon), all he's emailed back is more threats?

Dude, even if it's threats, it's still character interaction. Post them! If there's personal info, feel free to redact it, but for all we know there could be something important in those emails.

A little holiday info teaser. So... I emailed Peter.
Surprise!
He replied.

Mr. Severn,
Word on the street is that a certain member of our West Virginia camping contingent has been released back into the general populace. I do hope that he was treated well and is in good health, though I suspect quite the opposite. For some reason the vision of a limp body rolling out of the side of a still moving van comes to mind.
Should I be calling any Pocahontas County hospitals right about now?
Thanksomuch

Hello, Mr. Joergensen,
My holidays are wonderful, thank you for asking. I'm sure everything is warm and festive there in the Joergensen household? Is that where the camper is now?
When I go fishing, I don't feel compelled to cook and eat everything I catch. Sometimes a catch-and-release strategy attracts larger fish. Limp bodies and vans doesn't sound much like my friends, though, does it Biff? I heard there was a subcontractor involved. You can never be quite sure they'll handle things with the same attention to detail you would, but my friends insist it is the wave of the future and oh-so 5GW.
I might be able to get to the bottom of this for you, but what do you have to offer me in exchange? No sense rushing, take the holidays to ponder the answer. I'm sure I wouldn't like your first few offers anyway.

Peter really is a son of a bitch, isn't he? I'm not sure what we have to offer, except the black swan hard drive, but I'm not so sure he would be interested in it at this point judging by his comments. I think this should be posted on SO.

afaik, we're still operating under Peter's threat to James Stone :

There's a motive I can understand, Mr. Stone, and perhaps a shared interest after all. Once my colleagues at Sugar Grove have procured the information in question, I might be able to see what I could do about getting you a copy with as few redactions as possible. Of course, to even contemplate that, I'd need some assurance that you're the kind of professional who knows how to keep secrets, a trait so important for professionals with families.

From what we've heard of Peter so far, he probably would want things that'd help him hunt down Chorazos. So definitly the harddrive, maybe also the Angel's finger. Of course, given that he wants them makes me unwilling to give them to him. On the otherhand, we might not have much of a choice - he holds a lot of the cards.

If that was truly what he wanted, he has the resources to come and take them (contractors or not). I think he's after something a bit more intangible, and something we may or may not posess as of yet.

Good point. But it's not like we know anything that he can't find out just by visiting Sentry Outpost. Which leaves... our relationships? Maybe he needs the trust we have with the dreamers? Or maybe he wants us to do something for him, something that he can't do himself.
His mention of "take the holiday to ponder" might mean that whatever it is will become clear as time goes on. On the other hand, I'm worried about DC right now - if he's as sickly and weak as his dream version is, he might freeze to death without help.

Or it's something we may know that we just haven't realized yet. Or something we may find out in the future. Whatever it is, I'm willing to bet it's more about information than anything material we possess.
