Re: Fun for sure, except for the waiting

Thanks Hatty for your hints and tips.. this is my first experience working in a game solving forum and it was fun. The video is nice, but not as much fun as scratching my head and trying to look for numbers in cuts of meat or figure out other strange clues (like what was up with Facebook and Myspace really?) So where is the next puzzle?? Can we have one that we can win in the US of A??? Congratulations Hatty on being the first to see the video from this forum. I guess only time will tell if you were the first overall ??

Now I get to wait & wonder if Guinness will even announce that the (possibly) first to finish was from the USA & not even eligible to win LOL. Of course, I may not have been first, someone who isn't even here may have gotten it faster - if so, KUDOS to them, whoever they are!

To All Our UK Players, good luck in all the drawings & if we helped you, think a bit about donating to unFiction, it costs a lot to keep this site running for everyone to enjoy!

RedHatty,

Just a thought, as you're ineligible for the main prize, maybe Guinness could name a beer after you...I'm sure Guinness Red-Hatty would print neatly around a pint glass. We could start a petition.

Yes, what a good idea! That new Red beer they are coming out with.

ROFL - talk about infamy!!!

That's a sweet thought, but really it was just for fun! And it has been a lot of fun!

Cracked it - thank you everyone!!

Cracked it! Wonderful!!! Smile

I got to #8 with a little help from you guys but that delay was a killer. And then as luck would have it I had to go out tonight - right when I should have / could have been getting in among the first to crack it.

But no matter. I'm just more releived that I was able to finish the rest of the clues and see the final thing. Guess I'm in the draw - that's something Smile

Folks of unFiction - Couldn't have done it without you guys, so thank you for all your help!! I'll definitely be sticking around, you have a great community here!!

Bring on the next challenge! I'll be able to actually concentrate on work now rather than thinking about meat!!!

See y'all around - thanks again to all those who have contributed and of course well done RedHatty Smile

cracked this earlier tonight.

the mrs thought i was mental when i was cutting out bits of paper to work out one of the clues tonight!

the thing i'm most chuffed about is that i actually managed to work this out rather than cheating. Some amazing teamwork has gone on between us though...gut feeling is that guinness will be questioning their agency about making it too easy? lets face it if it wasnt for the guzmam delay we'd have had this done on sunday.

oh, and i think its now ok to say that the facebook accounts were playing with us to try and slow us down *taps nose*

well done one and all. i've had my surger out tonight for a pint to celebrate. now where's our prizes? i think its safe to say that all of us deserve something out of this..even those of you in the states

Pint's a calling

Well done all, and well done Hatty.

Can't believe that after all that waiting, I pop down the tennis club and the whole thing gets finished while I'm playing a few sets. Hey ho.

People are talking about other prizes. Can anyone enlighten me on that (I've probably missed the notice about that.

Cheers one and all

WTG, RedHatty! :D

I got hung up on the watch-- I tried everything... putting them in the order they fell out (and backwards), putting them in the layer order (and backwards)... randomly stuffing them in... finally I had to get on with some errands.

When I got back, I got it. Sheesh!

I'm on a course of antibiotics, so I'll have to wait a day or two for my celebratory pint. But I bet it'll be the best-tasting pint o' Guinness I've ever had (well, second, perhaps, to the one I tasted at St. James's Gate).

It's been a lot of fun. I love puzzles (does puzzledonkey do its thing anymore?), so I expect I'll see you all again soonishly :)

Cheers!

Did they screw up
What you think.

So the big question. Did Guiness under estimate the skills of RedHatty and crew and not have the full site working and therefore had to make everyone wait.

Or should we have found the perfect cut?

well he did talk about the perfect cut on the source code...

if we want to go into the draw every single week do we have to do the whole thing again each week or not??

Man! The one day I don't get home from work early, hehe...

Congratulations RedHatty and thank you for all your help and hard work.

I finished it as well, but I could not have done it without RedHatty, Palm, CaptKing, and ncfriend. Thank you so much!

(poor ncfriend is off on vacation and missed the finale)

So... what's next, friends? Any trailheads that look interesting?
