I know what you mean, I've been thinking on that too. When we find out the rest of what it says we might be able to decide on it one way or another.
However, I assume they've done their research and should expect EVERY tiny thing to be analysed - especially sinc ethey've expressively said it'll be hard. If it turns out to be a false lead, I'll consider that pretty poor show :p Especially with the budget I assume they have.
EDIT: Just wanted to add that I see what might also be "Album London" and "S Moyland" on the right hand side of the letter.

yeah i agree, I'm hoping I'm just tired and I'm wrong otherwise we still have no real leads
For example i can't actually find a reference to their film archive now but I'm pretty sure I read something about one in my googling earlier.
In my head at the moment though it makes a lot more sense that it's the label from the end of an archive film than a clue. I really hope I'm wrong otherwise, like you said, it's a bit careless of them to put something like that in an ARG, when they should know we're going to analyse every frame...
EDIT: OHH the letter says "Frame by frame the story shall unfold. The signposts will suprise you!" maybe there is hope we're on the right track after all
EDIT: I'm goin bed

In my head, in my world, it's an unwritten rule that you CAN'T say something is hidden "frame by frame", give us a video, put something in that we need to read frame by frame and have it mean nothing.
I think we'll have to wait to see what the rest says before we decide though xD
With that, I'm off to bed too. Eyes...burn....

Well, hate to break it to you guys, but there's bad news... well, mixed with a bit of good news... actually the good news might end up being better than the bad news.
I finished the second half... I was a little dismayed, for two reasons - as I went on, I noticed the results were the same as the first half... also, that meant all the work on the first half was for naught, because none of the frames were overlaid either.
However, this one's twice as long, so now along with the FOOT LAS VEGAS NEWS BUREAU 4-6-5'9 (which I'm not even sure is a 9, or an intentional '), we also now have
"Variety Convention Taylor" (though it could be TayCor)
the last word seems to match the similar word from the PDF background.

I <3 U ALL!!!
We may have to get someone or someones to do some legwork... There's a
photo exhibit that opened Oct 5th in LV, that is a photo exhibit chronicling Las Vegas' entertainment history.

Hmm, if some footwork is needed, I could make my way out to Las Vegas, I live in San Fran and I can fly for free (my father is a pilot for Delta).
But before that, we should most definitely contact Very Vintage Vegas and see what is on display.

I am wondering if the mayor is going to have his celebration at the Las Vegas Convention Center. There is a calender and the dates and times we have on the letter make sense that it would be an all day convention with meeting times and speakers.
Trying to search the calender, but haven't found anything yet.

Well, looking at the PDF and the film reel
"Taylor" shows up in both...
So "Variety Convention Taylor" is indeed important
Nothing is found in google though...

I'm wondering why the end quote is on the wrong side of the "r".
Doesnt that look weird?

reaching now -
time to give up
How about James Taylor? He is playing at a convention hall in Las Vegas on Nov. 10th and he is celebrating his gold records (hidden gold awaits us according to the letter).

Alright, the reel could say 4-6-5º or 4-6-50
Searching in Google maps...
4-6-5º brings up
4 6th Ave
New York, NY 10013
4-6-50
Pasir Ris Drive 6
Pasir Ris
Singapore
does it mean ANYTHING? maybe.

Having about as much luck with this as you guys. However, I did find that the 2006 International Variety Convention was held in Las Vegas last year, in May. Can't find much info about it though :/
Thebruce - you are wonderful, thankyou for doing that!
