Well, I don't know why I didn't see the date - was just thinking 6 numbers I guess.

The Ramon musician has a weird CD cover for his Foot of Film album don't you think? It doesn't look normal:

i thought it was a VERY weird coincidence... but then.. sometimes i see things.. lol.

about the video... ok dont look at the dominos.. look over his shoulders to the background.. that fabric thats hanging back there.. does it look like there's something being projected onto that background??? I see more motion than what would be there if the background fabric was simply being moved.

what do you think?

eta: for what its worth... here's some LV webcams. there's on on the strip at the convention center. http://www.nvfast.org/trafficcameras.html

I definitely see some motion behind his shoulder but can't make out what it is.

Taking a different approach, checked out the wiki on guinness to see the history of the advertising to see if anything pops out in how they might be approaching it this year.

First, I found out that this would not be the first year of using someone's song in an ad. For example:
"A 1995 campaign, featuring actor Joe McKinney dancing to "Guaglione" by Perez Prado while his pint settled, became a legend in Ireland and put the song to number one in the charts for several weeks. The advert was also popular in the UK where the song reached number two."
so the possiblity of the Ramon musician with the Foot of Film song, and an 'r on his webpage is feasable, although I listened to snippet of the song and don't see how it fits.

Second, according to the Wiki, I found out that Guinness' parent company is actually called "Diageo", since 1997. Diageo is a latin word - Dia meaning Day and geo meaning World and was meant to symbolise the company producing products that are consumed every day throughout the world, which might explain why it seems to be a Latin themed video.

Third, one of the last ad campaigns used a puzzle - name of the ad is "Noitulove" — which is "Evolution" backwards, so we need to look for puzzles similar to this.

About the FOOT of the video. Th part that we believe says Taycor or Taylor I think is wrong I think it says Tayco or Taylo and the r is alone with a quote sign. I.E. "R when I was playing with the frames I found the "R then another " after that with no R in the frame. This may be nothing.... I just wanted to put that out their. Now I need to sleep I have work very soon!

I saw it too. I did check frame by frame, and after the "R frame is another seperate frame with just " on it.

The only thing that I thought was weird though is that the 2nd frame's " was the exact duplicate of the "R frame. If I layer the 2 frames - one on top of the other, the " match exactly. The R disappeared on the last frame. So I was thinking it was just a progression - same frame.

Tayco is a photographer who took pics of Las Vegas in 2002

No, this looks promising.

Also don't know if this is relevant, but Foot of Film - the name of the song, relates to technical film glossery:
One revolution of the synchronizer equals one "foot of film"
Edited: Found out about Keycode - which are numbers that relate to "frame by frame". Isn't that in the letter? The numbers could relate to the frame number?
See this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keykode

Edited: I didn't know we were looking for a website that is a fictional Latino village - I guess I missed that somewhere.
Contagious news describes the contest:
"A tricky sequence of clues, hidden messages and puzzles has been laid; these then lead the browsing Guinness fan around a fictional Latino village, gradually revealing more about the surroundings and the mystery they hold. Although the website is yet to go live, a teaser-trailer has already been released via YouTube, showing the mayor of the village"

But I am still thinking it might be Las Vegas - definitely a word in spanish meaning "the fertile valleys".

Name of song.

Did anyone notice that one of the words in the background of the letter was "Train" and also that one of the songs on that cd is called "Slo Train". Not sure if that is just coincidence or not but thought I would throw that out there.

I just have a feeling that the website announcing the official start of the game will come out on Monday Oct. 29th. That letter had the date the 29th on it.

bahaha.. well, lets just say there are A LOT of cars on my train of thought....

i've seen both 'taylor or taycor' so i just took the r off taycor because the " were on the wrong side... like i say.. it maynot be anything, but it was interesting.... nothing wrong with learning something new i guess, even if its not game related...

i didnt know about the fictional village either.... thats cool... i've been accused of living in a fictional land anyway... should be a short trip there.

Well if you check my post I did indeed say it could be an "l" or a "C". I sided with the "r" being a part of the word due to its connection with Taylor in the letter, but since finding the "'R" reference, that's also become a possibility.
So we've got Taylor, TayCor, Taylo"R and TayCo"R. Even with all the letters being caps, L or C could work, except that it's bigger than the rest like the T; the R is small like the rest though, so it could be r or R; if it were actually "R I would expect it to be larger like the T and C. So not in small caps, the equivalent, IMO, would be TayCo"r, which doesn't make much sense. So I have no conclusion =P
Other than it being a "C", IMO

If this is a teaser trailer well, it might but just a teaser trailer :p Nothing for us to find. Some sites I saw it linked on from YT clearly marked it as the first clue though, so I'm not sure what to think.

If they really did just steal a head and foot from some archive footage because they were too lazy to make their own and this is allll coincidence then I shall be severely annoyed. If this wasn't their intended puzzle trail - it should have been. Cool

Good find with Tayco though!

Well, I notice here the word swimming, and on the letter reference to frame by frame. Actually, after researching into the history of their ad campaigns on the wiki, found out that one of their successful ads was a swimming surfer ad, and another one of their successful ads was a frame by frame animation contest named Hands.

the PDF

I wish we had someone that had Adobe Acrobat (not just the reader but the whole darn thing) so that maybe we could 'decompile' the layers of that thing. sigh...
