[SPEC] New trailer to be released... Not really sure about this.
According to aceshowbiz.com the next trailer will be released alongside Resident Evil: Extinction
I don't think this is reliable enough. And I couldn't find were they stated that on DreadCentral.com
Debunked! Not true at all...

I've got this great idea - it's called "waiting."
Unless you've been putting together the marketing for Resident Evil or working on the media buys at the theater, you probably won't know whether or not there will be a trailer beforehand. Therefore, you just have to wait and find out versus theorizing about it. Here's is my suggestions:
1. Wait and talk to someone who went and saw RE.
2. Wait and see RE.
I'm pretty sure you'll find out one way or the other.
The good news is that people such as myself want to see RE. If the trailer is there, then I get a two-for-one deal. If it isn't, I still get to see RE.
And even if you don't see RE, don't want to see it, don't plan on seeing it, or just plain hate it, you can bet your bottom dollar that a pirated version of the trailer will be online withing two hours. And to be a realist about it all, it's safe to assume that Paramount would post the new trailer as soon as possible as well.
So there is the answer. I don't see how harping about whether it will be or whether it won't could make the situation any better. Just wait a few days and go see the movie. Or don't...

If there is to be a second trailer, I would say with almost total certainty it would NOT be released with the opening of Resident Evil: Extinction.
Why?
Because Transformers is a Paramount movie. So is 1-18-08.
RE: E is a Sony Pictures film.
Has the 1-18-08 trailer been shown before any other movie BUT Transformers? If not, chances are very good no other trailer is likely to be shown before a non-Paramount movie.
If we were sure there was a second trailer coming, and had to bet on which movie it'd be released with, I'd go for Beowulf. The audience for Transformers is likely to overlap nicely with one for 1-18-08, and I'd say the same for Beowulf. It's also set for release Nov. 16, a nice 2 mos. before our desired movie. It'd be in pretty good time to renew the hype for the movie, and be shown for the time leading right up to it's release.

Very true, and very good point. I haven't seen much about Beowulf, but a cool scary movie is a cool scary movie in my book. As with the point I made earlier, it would be a two-for-one deal if the trailer was included, but I would just be happy enough seeing a cool movie.

You both have a very strong feedback on this and very convincing. I like RE but I most likely isn't there... As you guys said, although it isn't a Paramount movie, I'll just wait. I just want something new already!!!

Hmmmm. So I went to the Paramount site to look at their upcoming movies
for the rest of the year and next year.
Beowulf does seem to be the most likely candidate.
Though I sincerely hope that something in the way of information is
released to us before that date.

I'd rather have it with RE:E than Beuwolf. Just because I'd rather see RE:E, hah. I mean, I can't tell if I want to see Beuwolf or not. Every trailer as be "Red Screened" Or whatever it's called and the movie is suppose to be PG-13. At least with RE:E You know what you're going to get out of it.

It's not uncommon to have trailers included or even attached from different studios. Just last week we opened "3:10 to Yuma" from Lion's Gate, and were required to play the trailer for "In the Valley of Elah" from Warner Bros. Chances are the next trailer will be attached to a Paramount film, but it's completely possible for them to arrange with another studio to attach it to one of their films.

It might depend if it was the first release of the trailer... had the trailer for In the Valley of Elah been shown before 3:10 to Yuma opened?

Not to my knowledge. We didn't have a copy of it, and I had never seen it before. It doesn't mean it didn't play on a smaller feature, but it definitely wasn't included in any "wide" releases.
I was just using that as an example, anyway. We often get trailer placement demands that do not adhere to any studio preference. They all seem to work together to try and get similar-drawing films advertised to maximize every studio's revenue.
