Well, I guess this fits with her saying earlier that steganography and vigenere codes sounded cool.

But going to meet SWAN also makes me a tad suspicious of her. Is she just trying to lure Alex in? How does she know where to go?

Never thought about that until I read your post. Unless she knows where SWAN is because they gave her direction via e-mail or something of the like, it does seem suspicious.

I agree with Rekidk, like I said, it sounds like she's known about Swan for a LONG while now.
should we warn him not to follow her?

I don't know, I suppose it couldn't hurt, but what if he is in denial about it, then he would still go.

Do you think the butterfly has any other significance besides what's hidden?

Task 2 posted!

How often do you act selflessly for the consideration of others? Perhaps if you already help someone in your day-to-day life there is something more you can do to reach out and help others around you.

Helping those around you affects their lives in a positive way and caring for others is good for your soul. A simple gesture may start a chain reaction of helpfulness as those touched by your kindness feel spiritually lifted and in turn help those around them as well.

For example you could help someone who appears to be struggling carry a heavy load, direct someone who is lost or maybe simply help a member of your family with a task. There are hundreds of opportunities to aid those around you if one looks for them. Write a report on your actions and any positive responses gained then submit it as a new thread on this forum and as before congratulate and respond to other Cygnets on their achievements.

Damn, now I've gotta think of a time recently that I've helped someone.

I was wondering if I was looking too much into this...however it is nagging me as to how we all have Cygnet (Color)(Shape) in our handles except for Stephine who is Baby Swan Pink Star. Cygnet and Baby swan are the same things so why the isolation on her??

New post: "David Turner"

Quote:
Hi everyone,
Thanks for the concern but I'm fine. I think in the long run if these SWAN people are going to kidnap me I don't think it'll matter where I go, they probably have the resources to find me anywhere.

I went to Little Ashden today to see if I could find SWAN's location, no luck however and nobody I spoke to seemed to know of it!

It's a tiny village but still I couldn't see where SWAN could be, apart from houses there's just a small shop, a church and a small village hall.

However I noticed this in the local newspaper, thought I'd see what you guys make of it…

Search for missing surgeon continues

Ashden Police have issued a statement asking the public to come forward with any information that might be linked to the disappearance of the pioneering brain surgeon David Turner who went missing on Monday the 3rd of September.

David Turner, 36, attended the Ashden Bridge Club on the evening of his disappearance, but didn't return home. Members of the Club have been helping the police with their inquiries and are shocked by the disappearance of their member who many have described as one of their best players.

Wife concerned

"I am still extremely worried about David" Turner's wife Alison, 32, stated to the press testerday "It's extremely uncharacteristic of him, I urge anyone with information to come forward."

Jack: BILL, why isn't your messenger logged in? THIS IS A JOKE, these text files have no dates, no headlines, how are we meant to sort the files if they're just titled as numbers please start again, folders would help too...
Bill: Oh sorry dude I'll sort that out,
Jack: Just looked at one too, are they corrupted?
Bill: Oh no don't worry I just encyrpted them for the moment in case of hackers,
Jack: Who's going to hack the Ashden Chronicle Bill? Are you insane? I hope it doesn't take too long to change it back again?
Bill: I don't know, anyway don't worry, once you've done the first bit the keyword is easy to guess!
Jack: God you're an idiot.

That could definitely be significant but I think it's just because of Stephanie's personality and she chose to register as "baby swan" rather than "cygnet" because she thought it was cuter.

There are no other Pinks and no other Stars (the same with violet and hexagon as in Alex's handle) but currently I think there's no significance in this other than to distinguish the two IG characters and make them easier for us to recognize on the SWAN boards.

Could be important later though.

Anyone noticed yet that going to 1.txt, 2.txt, etc works on the news site? Looks like it goes up to 12.txt.

Looks like binary code in the *.txt files. But decoding it is not enough. I think you have to decode it more...
Am at work at the moment, so don't have the time to try several things.

Well, 1.txt becomes
Quote:

csjilaxiglasrxelllengezgaizspldylhyuxmjhaq**w*gzwjchsnimzilsniwgl**ybilg

fbhkzpgoirk*foxsefvveoqpvuqsflleumfdknmlasndylheyejkeddwioymivsaaqr
pcsirlzwaym*

but I can't determine this "easy" keyword (though I haven't run letter analyzers)

I've got the rest decoded to their vigenere text from binary, but can't figure out a keyword, let alone possible first words to whatever's encrypted

Ashden chronicles
archive

The .txt files on the Ashden Chronicles page are binary first, then vigenere with "easy to guess" as the key. The asterisk's are causing me fits because they dont decode. But, if you go to 3.txt it has enough letters before an asterisk to see that this is the correct code. I'll do my best to see if I can figure the rest out. Perhaps someone with a little more vigenere experience can get it faster?
