Incident at Lake County (1997)

Incident at Lake Country
I lurk all the time, but found this video and thought it seemed a lot like 1-18-08. This is about a boy who films his families thanksgiving, but ends up capturing a lot more.

Enjoy

Hello, and welcome to the forums Smile

Since this is not directly related to the game, please add [OOG] to the thread title.

I will edit once I watch the video, just wanted you to know!

I guess it wasn't that hard being nice :-p

Rolling Eyes Honestly Kraker, I'm not trying to give you a hard time mate cuz you're a cool guy and all, but does EVERY SINGLE ONE of your posts have to contain a repremand to someone? No one wants to hang out in a place like that, bro. Seriously. I think it best that, instead of embarrassing people by scolding them in public as though they are your child, it might be more appropriate to send them a private message. Yes, I think that is best. What do you think?

I didn't think that was a reprimand. It was me reminding him one of the forum rules (you should label what type of thread you have).

I didn't say he sucked or anything, in fact, i just finished watching the video and it was quite good (and scary :p)

If you interpret what I said as a public humiliation, I'm sorry. Tell me what to edit and I will edit it.

Actually the only thing that used batteries and died were the watches.

I'll admit there was some points where it was clear they were acting. Especially the mother. She acted like she was on a TV show. And that wine glass never left her hand even when they went outside!

But hey, it still scared the crap out of me. I'm sitting here in my dark house all alone. Me and scary movies don't get along. I scare easy but can't look away. Then I stay freaked all week long. Bloody/gorey movies don't do anything for me. It's the psychological ones that get to me because I really get into movies (I cried all the way through Color Purple). I hate that because then after the movie I wonder if I really did just see something move in the corner of my eye or am I just tired? Was that just the plant scratching my window suddenly? Hmmm never did that before. It was a good scarey movie in my book because it achieved the goal of the director - to make you believe it really happened. And even when I was sure it was fake, they would do something to make me reconsider that it might be real. And it had me going all the way to the very end, when they are all sitting around the table, and the aliens walk in. And they ALMOST held that Believable Moment, especialy when everyone suddenly notices the aliens standing in the room with them and they all freak out. What totally destroys the moment is that the supposedly unmanned video camera, which the guy set down on the counter, suddenly zooms in. THAT ruined it for me and I knew for sure for sure that it was fake. Mind you, I don't believe in aliens and if that video was real I would not believe that they were aliens. But there are so many physical and spiritual weird things in this world, and I myself have seen some CRAZY stuff in my life, that I am no longer as skeptical as before... so things seem more real and more scary.

That was the last thing i was gonna say... Unless the aliens did that, theres no explanation for it. Besides, if the aliens could have done that, they would have turned the camera off then.

Another thing, When it cuts from the "tape" to those annoying interviews, it completely kills the mood. Finally... Where was the "disturbing and graphic images" it kept saying were in it? the most "graphic" it got was someone foaming at the mouth, and it wasnt even that graphic.

Yea but im saying there wasnt anything in the film that warranted stopping the movie, just to say "warning, this tape contains graphic and disturbing images" and completely killing the mood of the film with the sudden breaks.

with a movie like this, I guess it's no big deal with the whole electricity thing.. but it sure was stupid in "War of the Worlds" when every single thing dies but not the camcorder during the first tripod scene...
