Golden Jigsaw

Have you seen this puzzle game - www.goldenjigsaw.com. It looks fun (if long) - complete 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle by finding pieces over the net. the first to complete gets $1million.

Then you read the small print:

"Infinite Ideation Limited, creators of the Golden Jigsaw are a permission based marketing company. By agreeing to these terms and conditions you are giving Infinite Ideation Limited and their clients the right to use your details to send you information, offers, products and services that are available."

And the hunt is based on receiving emails from them and then going to sites. Not to sure I want in on this one as I guess it will be heavy marketing and advertising. But clever idea though.

It was mentioned in the paper this week too, so went to the site to check it out, and definitely didn't like their T&Cs and privacy policy either.
Looks like a gigantic advertising and data collection thing to me - 1000 jigsaw pieces - how many companies are they going to pass on my info to?!

After going to the website, does anyone else get sort of a bad vibe off of it?

From what I can tell, any online business can purchase a puzzle piece to put somewhere on their site. So people looking for the pieces are given clues which lead them to a site with the piece and then have to scour the site to find it. So it's just like paying for guaranteed advertising.

I can't say that I like their Privacy Policy, but the fact that they don't require a phone number makes it good enough to play anyway. It's simple enough to toss junk mail in the recycle bin and a temporary email address takes care of any junk email.

First Clue

Did anyone get the first clue in an e-mail? I downloaded the board today, and in the directions it states that we are to receive an e-mail with the first clue. I never received it and would like to get started. Thought I would give it a try, but surfing to over 1,000 sites does sound like a bit much. Anyone else trying it? Can you share the first clue so I can get started?

wow, you got the board like 2 seconds after that part went live. Before that it was a message that said they didn't expect 1/2 the world to visit their site. (it went live faster than it should....3 hours.) so i'd expect the 1st clue then.....i'm DL'd the board now, so if i get a new email message, i'll pass it along. Very Happy

1st clue

Thanks - let me know if you get the 1st clue. I have a feeling with 1/2 the world visiting their website it will be quite difficult to win a million dollars and wondering how the time factor (UK) will affect anything.

Don't worry, and keep trying. There is a message on the myspace bulletin board that says:

"Well, we were prepared for all our registered users to come and download the jigboard at 12 noon, but we weren't prepared for half the world to visit the site all at once aswell.
Everything is being sorted as we speak and the jigboard will be ready for download as soon as possible.
Thanks for your patience."

EDIT: also recieved NO EMAIL with 1st clue. i'm guessing that might go out at 1pm (2hrs, 4 minutes)

golden jigsaw

I found six of ten pieces at www.naturalcollection.com. If it is going to be this hard to find all ten, I will never make it!!!
