I don't think Crazy was a PM, based on available evidence. This happened during Metacortechs too, where one of our puzzles went unsolved for weeks then an unknown lurker solved it and posted the solution. We, of course, knew it was a player (not us) but many of the players were convinced otherwise.

Rose maybe you or another admin. can answer this. Is it usual practice for the Pms to come to the forums after the ARG is over and discuss the game. That would be cool if the Pms did that.
Frequently after a game we have a PM chat where the players can ask questions. I have no idea if the people behind this promotion would be interested or willing to do such a chat. The TOS allows PMs to discuss their games after the game is over.
As for the topic, I don't think the password was that hard to guess. There are a lot of lurkers in this game, no reason to think this was anything more than someone found valuable stuff and posted it to be helpful.
Also, I have found that SpaceBass knows what he is talking about when it comes to PMs posting on this forum, so I would take his word for it.
Also, what makes anyone think that Bad Robot is the group behind this promotion? Anyone could be making it for them - my bet is that it is people who know nothing much about the movie itself. Perhaps some marketing types way down the food chain are involved. Look at it this way, would you trust people that are this careless with secret data about a project?

I know its stupid, but I went by Jane's blog as soon as this nonsense started to see if she had taken any strange breaks in posting...
*sigh* Just wishful thinking that 42entertainment might be behind it.

Ok Rose, point taken. On a side note about Spacebass: I know it sounds cheap, but instead of burning up the cash and time loading up the family for a European vacation, I went to Spacebass.net. Although I feel exposing my 7 year old to mass amounts of beer is bad, she is used to it. My wife called me cheap, I think I am innovative. The whole family had a wonderful European vacation in a few hours. We have pictures although Space and his buddy are in them. No care, they are good guys. The only thing I would have done different was I would have stuffed my pockets full of 5 dollar bills and headed to the Amsterdam Red Light District.

Just working for a company doesn't mean you are involved behind the scenes or are involved as a puppetmaster of this promotion. I know we had microsoft employees playing the Halo3 Iris promotion. Some of them even unlocked servers and got T-shirts. But they weren't insiders as to the game.

Only the password was solved by CrazyOver11808. It would have never guessed it, but I think it is possible someone else could have guessed it right away. That's the power of the hive.
I agree with the above statement that someone else guessed it offhand. I actually tried "Jamielovesteddy" as the password before it was discovered (just gave up on it too soon, d'oh!). I don't think "jllovesth" was an especially hard one to guess.
That said, I *wish* I worked for Bad Robot. That would be all kinds of awesome.

What is your fascination with spelling your name within your post in all-caps?

I've actually been pointing fingers at Hi-Res for awhile. I don't think s/he is involved though.
