You know something I think your right. I think it is some sort of game of sudoku... The main page has as many squares as a sudoku cube... and 1+2=3 only makes sense in a game of sudoku.

Well, I gave up for awhile but I just can't let qu13e go, apparently. We still haven't found the other word?? This is insane.
Has anyone tried kyuu (9) yet? Kokonotsu is classical Japanese; modern is kyuu.
I sent an email asking if it was "kagi" (key). I'm also thinking a potential word could be densha (train) or tamashii (soul).

I feel like a qu13e chat could get things done a lot faster - even on AIM or something. Would anyone be up for it?

kyuu sounds like queue, doesn't it? there's a person called mr. e. queue who once was mentioned at japanonymous.com

what if we are over looking something small... we are stuck on the 9 what if it is 3 (a play on nine 3cubed) I know this may not make sense but so far anything with 9 seems to be wrong and it keeps saying 1+2=3.
just a thought
okay so I tried san(three) and got this in reply
Quote:
Melpomene Iriguchi [entrance] is one of three.
Jitensha [bicycle] is two of three.
San [three] is not, one plus two is three.

this just in... wow! a little qu13e makes my day even better
i received this email this morning - (so did randomeis)
from:
Quote:
9* (9starspills splat gmail.com)
subject line:
http://www.japanonymous.com/
i'm heading there now to check it out.
edit: okay, lots of stuff here to mull over. below is something from the "about" page. i'm re-posting here because qu13e, as we know, comes and goes.

About
www.japanonymous.com is an incongruous collective of unwitting know-it-alls playing a sinister part in a sinister plot; a conspiracy whose mission is to spread chaos and promote confusion in an otherwise already chaotic and confused world.
We
They are a secret underground disorganization of secretly disorganized undergroundlings secretly being brainwashed and mind-controlled by even more deeply secreted undergrounded disorganizationalists.
You can find
us
them getting lost in Tokyo darkness, usually staggering about in vodka-induced stupors. Usually in train
stations
tunnels. Almost certainly always usually after hours.
But you shouldn't be here, shouldn't be reading this, because…well, if you are…then let
us
them know and
we'll
they'll
exploit you
explain then.

Oh man, I'm so jealous that I didn't get the email too! Oh well. It's definitely ingame if you ask me. The train picture makes me think that densha (train) is the last word. I sent an email to Melpomene and hopefully I'll hear back soon. If this isn't it then I don't know what comes next.
If anyone else would be willing to shoot off an email, try "eki" (station) and "Tokyo".

i think before we shoot off any emails, we need to continue to look at this site. there's a ton of stuff here to digest. if you'd like to email someone, there is a contact email on japanonymous.com - perhaps they know our friend random martin or splinternails or... maybe our qu13e is another narrative in the world of japanonymous?

I sent an email there too, just asking who they are. I still think we need the 3 words from Melpomene to do SOMETHING...who knows what though. I investigated the website but nothing has really jumped out yet. But I'm going to keep looking.
Do you have AIM, labfly?

I tried the station name that is listed in the poem on 25 and it wasn't it (Shibuya) but I was thinking... what if it is one of the other squares before the one of the bicycle and entrence, it goes back to the 1+2=3 that melopmene says the other boxes must have some part of the clue.
EDIT: sorry I have my dates mixed up I ment the post by Mr. Eyes on the 13th of july... makes me wonder.

I sent a msg letting him know that the email he had for me didn't work and received the following.
Quote:
Subject: Naughty, but Not I...
"And now dear little children, who may this story read,
To idle, silly flattering words, I pray you ne'er give heed:
Unto an evil counsellor, close heart and ear and eye,
And take a lesson from this tale, of the Spider and the Fly."
