 		ohmeyeah! Very Happy i wrote back and i'm now waiting on further info/response and or sign. let's keep a keen eye on qu13e.com & maybe take a look around in other places for traces of splinternails, random martin & clock stop the whys.

 		RIP my patient friend Melpomene.

The puzzle solution-- I have taken so many avenues, so many dead ends, I cannot say for sure which of my queries to Melpomene was correct. Since April I have been searching, stopping completely and restarting from the beginning twice. Since I can't tell you all what the answer is, what I will do is post all communication I had with Melpomene, relevant or not, and perhaps a fresh pair of eyes will see something I do not. I can also throw in my train of thought behind the more obscure ideas I had. It'll take me a bit to gather it all together.

For now, splinternails.com and splinterworld.com are back. Where it all began.

Edit-- in looking back, there are 70 emails between Melpomene and myself, most of them I think are dead ends. Let me try to pick out the important stuff instead.

According to whois splinternails.com was reregistered December 4th. I saw it around December 15th, but hadn't checked before then in months.

Wouldn't it be nuts if there never was any real answers... not really.

I like to think that they found somebody, perhaps with experience running a game, to help them/him/her restructure and do it right. But probably not.
