I know I got VERY busy last week with Thanksgiving, and have a busy work week ahead, so let's extend the limerick contest until the end of this week. Have at it!.

Okay, only since you asked for more:
A definite episodic vicissitude
Called innocently-enough an "Interlude"
The next book awaiting
This downtime we're hating
Can PMs please up the amplitude?

Hey Obs, no talking smack about my haiku contest, we've got 10 pages of entries. And, a prize or two.
We've got a prize... I just haven't ordered yet. That said, we don't have to play for prizes here We do it for the love.
Also, limericks are harder to write than haiku.

And we are far fewer in number.

Deadline's over, but this just popped in my head and has no chance of winning anyway:
Chorazos struck like a hammer
Amidst the smut peddlers' yammer.
Brian could not know
That among all our foes
The most persistent would be the spammers.
A gentle ribbing at the evil bastards who keep trickling into our forums and wiki. No ill will meant (to GMD, for the spammers clearly deserve both cruel AND unusual punishments), and I'm greatly looking forward to the next book.

*sigh* I know, I know. I haven't announced the winner yet. I'm having trouble deciding. If I narrowed it down to say three to five entries, would you guys like to vote for the winner?

Lovek needs help picking a winner,
distinguishing saint from the sinner.
Eliminate some with a test,
Let us vote on the rest,
and for your efforts I'll treat you to dinner.

Dinner's a kind proposition
I'll take you up on after this mission.
And your support of this option
Shall grant it's adoption.
I'll downsize, then we'll vote, then nutrition.
(in other words, let's go with the voting option, I'll try to get it narrowed down and post tonight. And cather should learn not to make offers of free food, lest she find me hungry and knocking on her door!)

I've spent some time narrowing down the possible winners, and in the end kept coming back to one person. So, if no one objects, I think I'll go ahead and declare a winner.
And that winner is... <drumroll>
johnny5 for his Lucky 5 + bonus track set of limericks.
I'll announce the prize once it's fully put together (there is one in the works).
ETA: I should add that this was a TOUGH decision! Who knew there were so many talented limerick writers? (Whether being a "talented limerick writer" is something you should broadcast I'll leave open for discussion.)

Yeah, sorry about that. I tried to do it several times, but my internet is questionable right now (satellite internet + ice storm = iffy situation), so I never got it done.
Also the reason I'm not going to take the time to log in.
That said... Thanks, Noyb.
