At least the song on their myspace is called "The Green Force" - what points a bit back to Teddy and the speculation he could work for a Greenpeace-like organisation. Rolling Eyes

Edit: I googled up for Glashelme (that's German for glass helmet) but as I expected no good finds, just Fanfiction-stuff to other topics.

in-fairness he/she got the song right

Uhm...how is that possible? That MySpace was made a couple of hours after the Vid was found...and yet it sounds almost exactly like the song in the vid. No one can record something that fast on their own. That song has to have been available previously. Either MySpace's "Glass Helmets" knew of the song beforehand and stole it to put on their page (which of course violates MySpace music's TOS), or they actually are the band featured in the vid. Either way, that can't be a fan-made cover.

As for looking for said band, I think their music must be available on MP3.com or purevolume or some other free music page for indie bands. They don't in any way sound professional, so I wouldn't bother trying them to tie them to any real pro bands.

Besides, Jaimie isn't exactly the smartest fish in the pond (or the soberest), so maybe she just flubbed the name? I tried searching for Glass Helmuth, Klass Helmet, Klaus Helmuth, etc. but got nowhere. Though there is a rather significant number of people named Klaus Helmuth, none are part of crappy wannabe death metal bands. Maybe an anagram will do the trick...

As for Jaimie herself, it seems to me like she's just asking to be infected by some sort of virus or cruelly experimented on. Methinks she be getting a wee bit too nosy about The Cause. Besides, The Cause doesn't really sound like it'd be anything good to me. Sure, Teddy might tell Jaimie it's all to help save the environment and help starving orphans an whatnot, but Jaimie is also an idiot (trying to strip to death metal proves it). Frankly, Teddy's kind of been using Jaimie, and their relationship is largely an illusion created by Jaimie, so I doubt that Teddy would be some sort of charming hero out to save the world. He's probably pretty devious, and is just using The Cause as an excuse so he can dump Jaimie after a wild night together, and then never be heard of again. Except that, if that's the case, I think he'll probably meet up with the monster and get his comeuppance.

Wait...Teddy's been out of contact for two days...maybe he's already dead?

Whilst assuming the my space site for the Glass Helmets might be OOG, it's interesting that the song is called 'The Green Force' which sounds like an environmental pressure group.
Also, the blurb on the site says:
"Their still unreleased LP, "Hyperion and his disciples" is an album in the truest sense, with an often cryptic, but fairly clever narrative about physicists doing battle with the pantheon of greek gods in a dystopian future."
Hyperion is the God of the Sun.
Just musing...

gathered som friends who listen to a lot of death metal and tried to figure out the lyrics, but only a few words are possible to hear clearly since the vocals are not only "growled" but also distorted (probably to mimic some sort of speaker/telephone).
(The ones marked with questionmarks are where i just guessed)
Some of them are

"It will never be decided(?)"
"The others/Daughters deserve to die"
"Everything aiming(?) to the/ending in a massacre"
"**** as the human universe was ****"
"Silent, ready for the waves to break the fall(?)

These are all from the first half of the song, in the second half it gets a lot harder to hear the lyrics.
And BTW, came to think of a French death metal band called "Gojira", a lot of their songs are about the environment and they are considered to be a "Green band" in some ways. Also, their latest album "Flying Whales" is about another planet where whales have evolved to fly and other strange things... great album though, check it out!

I was noticing the thing above the light switch too... it looks like a dried corsage (like from prom or something?) or maybe some angel/dragonfly wall-hanging??

I'd go for a angel figurine - and I guess that's a pretty common one (thinking about my someday becoming mother-in-law who got a whole house full of that angel-stuff). So in my eyes it's no special symbol, just some sob stuff.

Edit: Maybe even a putto (like this) tho it looks rather like a present or a souvenir from her grandma.

Many good examples of oxymoronic names, but two are not quite so purely symbolic.
The iron maiden is a very real torture device.

A 'black sabbath' is something of a paraphrasal of Black Mass.

Edit: Fixing stupid inability of phpBB to handle parentheses in URLs by encoding them.

True, but in the end even if they weren't meant to be symbolic ( Judas Priest also) they still fit the criteria, which makes them great metal names.

Yeah, nothing fancy.

You left out that the chimney acting as a shade on the lamp on Jamie's left is gone, exposing a lightbulb. So we know, it's not an oil lamp.

I'm really thinking theglasshelmets might be IG. How could that song be found so fast, I still can't find it, without the band name or song name to go on. Who knows if the PMs didn't screw up and not get it out fast enough, they did it before ie. Paramount for a password.

Kinda cool cause it goes back to my idea about Ganus' name.

From Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperion_(mythology)
Hyperion is a Titan, the son of Gaia (Earth) and Uranus

From my Kottos thread:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=20876
Gaia(Earth) and Uranus(Sky). take Ga from Gaia and nu from Uranus(insert joke here) you get.. Ganu. (He was very big).

Gaia or Gaea, known as Earth or Mother Earth (the Greek common noun for "land" is ge or ga).
http://www.pantheon.org/articles/g/gaia.html
and.....
Anu/Sky/God
ANU/the/Heavenly/One
Anu/Uranus
http://doormann.tripod.com/engsum.htm
Ga and Anu - earth and sky - Gaia and Uranus

Well, IG or not, the GlassHelmets are online at the moment, and accepting friends.

Its interesting, but The Glass helmets doesnt really sound like a band that would play Death Metal. More like something that would play punk.
