Dear Roxanne,

I am putting myself on the line here by sharing this with you. Please do me the favor of only sharing it with those you trust and whom you believe will have insight into what Sarah meant by what I am about to tell you.

Thank you.

After James and I spoke to Agatha the day before yesterday, we decided that we wanted to try to discover what we could around the Library from the outside. We again snuck the statue out of Phyllis'shouse and, taking the car, headed the short distance to the library. I had Chris and James wait in the car so that they could better watch the area and give me some peace while I tried to contact whatever energy was around. James was so concerned about the various attacks that had been happening that he even brought along his gun, though I told him if he shot me he better make sure it was a kill!

I walked up to the building and rested my right hand upon the graffiti as I concentrated, opening my shields and my very self to whatever was waiting to speak to me. Slowly it began the creeping feeling of cold and otherworldliness that always precedes a deep contact. My body was flooded with sadness unlike anything I had ever felt before. Despair shook me and I found myself crying out of sympathy, the trickle of hot tears distracting me enough to keep from going into full unconscious trance. I could tell that whoever or whatever I was contacting had given up, that they had lost all sense of hope or joy and my knees buckled with the realization that this was not just an entity, this was Sarah.

I began to hear Sarah's voice saying over and over again to herself, "Too late, too late, it's all too late." Over and over again she said this phrase for minutes, the words slipping out of my own lips to be recorded by the small voice recorder in my front pocket as I connected ever more deeply with her. For several minutes this was all she would say and then she paused and said:

"One by one they will be found,
in darkened wood and sacred ground,
a disc of knowledge to show the way,
the mind of man, its role to play,
a mask to hide and yet reveal,
the truth within we all conceal,
and wand of wood to fill the hand,
release the untapped will of man.
With these, the one who walks between,
the giver of the damaged dreams,
freed from rules that bind him tight,
return he shall and set things right."

For the longest time there was silence as I struggled to breathe and stay aware against the darkness that seemed to press in on me from all sides. Slowly, cautiously, I whispered "Sarah?" My words were greeted with silence and I remember wondering if I had again lapsed into trance, but when I opened my eyes I saw my hand against the glowing mark on the wall. I tried again. "Sarah?" This time there was a rustling, a sense of movement as if someone was sitting up or adjusting their position to hear better. Sarah's voice came to me softly, "At last you come."

Again there was that chilling silence, during which the blackness clung to me, seeking to strip me of all conscious thought and make me its slave. Her voice returned in a loud boom that lit my senses as if an electric shock had been sent through me. "Too late, too late, it's all too late!" Sarah repeated herself several times and just as I was about to interrupt her, James shouted, "Iris, quick! Come here!" Though I regret that this had to end, it was a relief of sorts. Sarah was not the same as in prior contacts. Something has gone wrong!

Still groggy and regretful, I went back to the car and saw them pointing off into the distance at a glow on the skyline. Chris said, "That's a fire, a big one too I think. It looks close!" We decided to go see what was happening and after locking the car, ran a few streets over to find that Wes Keeler's shop was engulfed in flames! The Fire Department had just responded and though they got it out fairly quickly, the whole building was gutted. I tried to feel anything, any hint of who may have done this to Wes, but I couldn't sense anything unusual there in all the commotion.

A small crowd formed as firefighters battled the blaze and we spotted Phyllis as she moved through the crowd to get a better look. Phyllis was so upset and once the police arrived and began to ask the crowd to go home, we all agreed to head home and discuss what had happened. God, I am still exhausted by what has happened. I hope that Phyllis is correct that Wes will be returning soon. We need his wise advice!

Iris

It is now obvious that Sarah is the one trapped inside the walls of the library, the one that Iris was channeling while wearing the mask. And since we now have all three objects, the disc, the wand, and the mask, we are poised to move forward. Sarah has given us the key:

"With these, the one who walks between,
the giver of the damaged dreams,
freed from rules that bind him tight,
return he shall and set things right."

So the three objects serve to release the Wish from his constraints so that he can return and make things right again. The timing, however, is now critical. It appears that we are running out of time (Mars Day?). It would also seem that the fire at EOTW has dealt us another setback, since Sarah went ballistic when the fire began (judging by the apparent timing in the message).

And we still do not know what to do with the objects - must they be brought together? Do we have to give them to Dale, or to Wes? And what about the stones? So far, only three have been acknowledged (myself, TartanWolf, and Sunny). Where are the others, and will we comprehend the manuscript pages in time to recognize our role in all this?

Edit: ALH1213 has announced over in CD that she has receieved a stone from Sarah. That makes a total of four now.

While Iris' message gives us more clues, it also opens up more questions. And we don't have the luxury of time anymore.
