Yeah, but at least it'll be up for a few minutes, as opposed to a few seconds.
Dennis, thats a great point. Maybe you should attach that tip to your next blog entry (or just edit your current one.)

it would be more secure if we send links to users via PM... create a thread for people that want the link, you post saying "I want it" and someone PMs you the link...
(but then people working for Paramount [acting as users] can simply say "I want it", get the link, then remove it... sneaky bastards)
whoever finds a copy on youtube, try to rip it as quickly as possible, so you keep a hard copy...
http://keepvid.com/
good place to rip videos. type in the URL (ex: http://youtube.com/watch?v=8avOiTUcD4Y ) and it gives you the video file's direct link...
Obviously it is in FLV format.
if you can't convert it, ask someone here, and I'm sure they could.

I don't think we need to get to that extreme. As long as it's hard for "them" to find, it will buy the video some "up-time". It can always be re-posted...
BTW, I think KeepVid still works for saving videos from YouTube: http://keepvid.com/
- You scooped me!
Personally, since I'm a video ninja , I wouldn't even bother with YouTube. If someone sends me a copy of the trailer (wink, wink, nudge, nudge), I'd convert it to FLV myself, and host it directly.

trailer Ok so the thread starter iammattsassi and i are friends. however, neither of us has seen the trailer in theaters. Our mutual friend works for a movie theater and last night he was able to watch the trailer. He recorded it on his phone and showed it to me. This is what I could make out :
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I saw the text at the very beginning but due to the horrendous quality of the video, it was hard to make out. After that it seemed to go to some party scene and i heard screams
After that i just ended the video because it was almost impossible to see what happened after this and im going to see the trailer tonight. iammattsassi and i are not gamejacks. this trailer is for real.

You seem to have described the first trailer.

i know that sounds like the first trailer but it wasnt the same party scene from the first. plus there was four lines of text before it on a black screen after the bad robot/paramount logos flashed

Edit to question: What happened other than the party?

if somebody puts the new trailer on youtube, PLEASE title it something about turtles, and make the tags and description COMPLETELY unrelated to Cloverfield.
just post the link here and it will be long before anybody NOT from these forums finds it intentionally.

Assumed Title Oh yea and one thing else
The trailer had the presumed title many of us have been waiting for for something like 4 months
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
CLOVERFIELD! They decided to just keep it plan and simple. personally, i completely agree with the choice to keep it as the original"code name"
