Could Glass Helmet be an Asian band?

I don't know any Asian languages, but has anyone checked to see if the name may be translated different in Japanese, or if it would show on our searches if it is an Asian band? I don't know if Kanji version of a phrase or word shows up if I type in English. Just a thought.

New "song" on their page "Ockem's Razor".

[EDIT] to add:

Ockem's Razor
William of Ockem was an English medieval scientist who first observed that, in weighing competing causes for a scientific phenomenon, the hypothesis with the least amount of variables was usually the correct one. He described cutting off extraneous theories and ultimately arriving at the core solution. Put another way, the scientific theory, which has multiple factors, is less likely to be truly causative than a theory, which has, at its root, one simple explanation. This process has been called "Ockem's Razor." Thus, in analyzing any scientific phenomenon, it may be of value to look for the solution that has the least amount of variables.

A hint about some of the more ridiculous speculations concerning the movie? Smile

Sounds like it.

There is a line about a secret too in the song, I wish I could decipher the lyrics. IG or OOG it's still kinda interesting.

Why the spelling variance?

OK, it's Occam or Ockham...not Ockem.

Is this intentional variation in spelling, sign of sloppiness, OOG?

Here's the Occam's Razor for beginners quote:

"It is vain to do with more what can be done with fewer."

One monster instead of multiples? Wink

Ockham, Ocham, Occam, or Ocham?

Ockham's name is misspelled quite often in literature. My best information shows that the original and correct spelling is Ockham. Some of the misspellings I've seen are Ocham and Occham.

Hm. A bit of connect the dots just went on, not sure if this has any relevance, but given the fact that the movie clearly features hazmat suits, and the idea of "the cause" and the references to cleaning up the environment, could "glass helmets" refer to people in hazmat suits?

Ockham's Razor, eh?

I just learned about that in a lecture.

Lena's myspace page, in her pic's the one she makes reference to switching faces in. Glass Helmet? Really wish I knew what type of procedure that was needed for, seems strange to have a picture that irrelevant in her personal section.

I believe that she's referencing the movie Face/Off with Nicolas Cage.

Yeah, but what procedure is she having? I'd gathered that she was making reference to Face/Off but, what, is she having a facelift? Did she have her face mangled in an accident? Is it 'art'? Why is the pic there?

Hello All

More info and songs coming soon. The Album has taken up all of our time recently, but as soon as we finish mastering, we'll get more stuff online for all of you to check out. Thanks for all the interest and messages!

-The Bot

Just uploaded "Ockem's Razor" for your listening pleasure. We're cranking out mixes by the day, and we'll probably post some not-yet-final ones to get your feedback.

With regards to the requests for lyrics, we will publish them with the complete album, but we want to present them as a complete work, rather than piecemeal. Thanks for all the interest, and we should have another 2 or 3 tracks online within the week!

That should read "when you hear hooves, think horses, not zebras (and never have any fun)"

Bold Futura has recruited one hundred of the top physics majors graduating from universities around the world.

From glass helmets:
"The Glass Helmets bring together many disparate elements of the global metal scene into a sound that is fierce, often grandiose, but still earnest. Their still unreleased LP, "Hyperion and his disciples" is an album in the truest sense, with an often cryptic, but fairly clever narrative about physicists doing battle with the pantheon of greek gods in a dystopian future.

Good Job Red!, also this...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperion_(novel)

"after Earth is destroyed in a scientific accident (the Big Mistake) through what that accident was studying: controlled singularities known as "farcasters" which permit nigh instantaneous travel between points separated by apparently unlimited distances. "

Teleport anyone?
