At this point, if it's real I won't be surprised. And if it isn't, that wouldn't surprise me either. But I will say that the reports are piling up closer and closer to the release date for the trailer that all confirm the same things. You'd think that if we're this close to the release date for the trailer, at least someone had to have seen it already.
Again, who the hell knows at this point? January isn't that far away and my interest in the film has still remained solid. Whatever happens until then is gravy.

There are some awesome, awesome shots that perfectly use that concept of the hand-held cameras, including a guy being killed and falling to the ground (you see his feet) and then it shows Rob running up picking up the camera.

Once the Trailer is out for everyone to see, is the game over?

well it may not be over but it would put a huge lock on it i mean theres not really anywhere to go from there..........if you see even a glimpse of the monster that cancels out any speculation about what it would look like which means about 56% of the game will most likley no longer be discussed.

theres still a back story going on with jamie and teddy, so the monster is only half of it, the trailer will just unlock more mysteries to find and debate about

Well I see no reason to doubt the description of the trailer now. What would be the point?
Kudos to iammattsassi, got a good scoop. Big Kudos to Devin over at CHUD who called it 2 weeks ago...I doubted his report and now I humbly apologize.
Now a few questions.
1. What does Cloverfield mean? If it's the title, there must be a reason for the name...since most thought it was a placeholder, who has really looked at this angle.
2. Any hidden clues in the trailer (i.e. guy wearing a Slusho shirt)? We'll probably have to wait until the HD version on Apple is out.
3. With little monsters (no, not my kids!) running around, there seems to me at least, a more sinister reason for the attack on NYC and Tagruato's involvement...I want to see what side Teddy Hanssen ends up on.
4. After the 1st trailer, the 1-18-08.com site put out 3-4 pics in a two week span. Will we see some pics added? Will the ARG/E side pick-up with the release of the trailer? Desperately need some My Space updates from the Slusho 7 and need that Tagruato site updated for starters.
I'm going to the movies this weekend with my wife and I'm begging her to go to Beowulf, but she's not interested...whatever movie we end up seeing (god, I hope not Fred Claus), I think I'll be heading to the bathroom after I check the start time of Beowulf at the theater we're in and pop in to see the trailer.

I'm still a little (emphasis on little) skeptical. Even though the legit website confirmation seems to back it up, some of the wording of the article ("Go see Beowulf!" written at the end of the article raises an eyebrow for me), and the fact that everyone is going on about how CHUD was right, and also the fact that some of those scenes would seem very hard to put in a trailer (the Hud dying one) gives me the skeptic ticks. Then again, why would they lie this close to trailer release?

I understand your little sceptisism, as the wording does make it sound like a plug for Beowulf more than "see the trailer at the start of Beowolf!" But your right I dont think anyone wopuld be pulling a colby rook this close to the release, I'm positive this is gonna be legit!
