So, everyone is so sure this is the real, final trailer...

It lacks the leading Paramount and Bad Robot logos as the original trailer had. Even if this is anything from the studios it's nowhere near a finished product. It'd be dandy if you could actually read the text at the very beginning - but as blurred as it is it could say "You guys are total suckers, and I'm going to laugh my ass off at all of you!" It also doesn't have the closing declarations of the producer (Abrams) or a date or any such thing as the original did. Even as blurry as it is, the 'title' doesn't look to be rendered using the same techniques as the ending text in the original trailer. If this thing is in any sense 'real' it's got to be a very crude early cut and I'd say that 'title' text is just a really rough placeholder. Oh, and that title? Still not trademarked by anyone but Cumberland Farms:

You have to remember that the clips of the trailer aren't the whole thing. It seems to have cut off the beginning of the trailer and someplace in the middle because if you play all three parts together it makes up 45 seconds are so. And if the trailer is about 2:21 that means you are missing a good minute and a half of the trailer.

The Bad Robot and Paramount logo's were probably at the beginning and then cut out for the clips.

Actually, I loaded these 3 clips into iMovie and have been viewing them as a continuous video. Seen that way they appear to be very much a continuous shot, and all of the sound effects are very much in tempo (ever notice that such fast paced trailers tend to have a good rhythm or cadence?). The grand total running time is 1:04. It contains just about everything as described in the CHUD article, except the 'I am Rob Hawkins' bit. Even WITH that it'd be hard to extend this 'trailer' to 2:21. There's also a consistent artifact at the bottom of the video which looks as if it's a reflection off a surface, like a coffee table or TV stand. This footage reminds me very strongly of some Bigfoot footage...

In that last clip, they're inside a helicopter, right? And, it's going down.

So, at some point, they're getting a ride out of the city in an Evac helicopter, but they don't make it. That would make sense.

Damn, I wish the quality was better! It's hard to really make anything out, but the soldier in clip 2 looks to be wearing the same kind of gear as the one in that blurry pic. on 1-18-08.com.

Also, the fact that there is a shot of the decapitated SOL - w/the camera rotating around it - means that it won't all be from Hud's/Rob's camera. Unless they shot that while in the helicopter that seems to be going down at the end. Hurm...

OK, so I'm watching this and spotting things I don't like all over the place.
The first part where it's the teaser fast forwarded has some footage that is definitely NOT from the original teaser. Some of the people are not even the same it would appear.
I looked at the beginning where Rob walks in, and there's a cup raised - pretty easy spot to isolate in both videos. Rob is looking in opposite directions in the same place in each video. The guy walking in with him isn't taking a picture in the 'new trailer', and that hand holding up the cup? It's lost it's sleeve and grown a watch or bracelet. Edit: Check out that fro he popped out magically too!

Is it possible for you to post your spliced together vid? I totally agree that the running time is an issue, and my two cents worth is that there doesn't seem to be a great deal of 'OMG this trailer kicks ass' type of discussion going on anywhere from people who have genuinely viewed it in theaters, or has NO-ONE, as yet, genuinely viewed it in a cinema?
