i think it is unlikely that the military/government would allow a full-scale assistance from a company that caused the problem to begin with.. perhaps they would consult with them to find out "just what they're up against", but it would be pretty irresponsible for the government to allow them to have access to victims..

we could perhaps imagine that somehow the tagruato scientists got there first... w/o government permission, but it seems to me that most of the non civilians here are likely military and military scientists.. the military has a great number of individuals prepared for chemical warfare/hazardous materials as you would expect..

it could be the cdc also, but the cdc is primarily based in atlanta and that's quite a hike up the ol' eastern seaboard...

Okay I finally found the images. Here are a couple of hazmat suits very much like the ones seen in the still shots shown in Lizzy's interview. Obviously there are some very bright blue hazmat suits out there.

The Tagruato Scientists thing sounds good, but I'm inclined to disagree for a few reasons.

Even if the Marines decided to bring in the experts to help, they would not be standing around infected people if they weren't wearing MOPP gear if they were concerned with a biologically hazardous situation. None of the Marines or Soldiers that we have seen so far are wearing it.

If the T-people did get in, even unofficially, and somehow managed to convince the Marines (of all people) to let them do their job, they STILL wouldn't be right up all in the mix. They would be at wherever battlestaff (AF jargon. I dunno what they call it in the MC or Army) is giving advice to senior personnel who are organizing and running the counter-attack.

Also, I don't think there would be a hospital (makeshift of all kinds) right in the middle of a warzone, when you're concerned about infection and a constant attack, y'know? It defeats the purpose.

Rose are red, but VIOLETS are blue!

It will be interesting to see what role Tagruato plays in the film.

Besides the color thing ( which I think doesn't mean anything ) , I think any woman would be infuriated by a Slusho maker as a gift.

No?

Baby, I'm sending you something very special!
A wedding ring? Zut, oh mon dieu!
Um, hmmm ... well, not that special

Ever heard of Halliburton? How about Blackwater USA? Private companies are brought in to assist in combat situations, even to do some of the fighting (as Blackwater does). The Marine I know that was in Iraq speaks of some situations where you'd expect better protection, but he didn't have any provided. You have to keep in mind that military personnel are viewed as the resources and property of the government - and are expendable. When you sign up, you are basically accepting risks beyond just being shot, and I think you'd find the fine print says pretty much that.

I'm sure you've seen the field hospitals set up in a relatively forward position in a combat theater. This is also a monster or monsters, not generally expected to hold territory or take prisoners. There's no clear 'front' to define if it's an animal on a rampage.
