What it was actually just a big lion, i mean, is there a zoo somewhere near there? Maybe it's like a just because they said it's huge could mean 'it's bigger than me!' or something. Just sayin

I think everyone is forgetting that this movie is not being presented as a classic monster movie. In a classic monster movie, everyone knows that a monster is attacking - that fact is not mulled over; people know it and they move on. THIS movie, though, is being presented as something real, so the characters will react as a person might actually react in a major crisis. And, here's the thing: imagine you are in NYC and suddenly there's explosions and alarms and people screaming - you would NOT think, "oh, must be a monster attack." The "it's alive! it's huge!" line in the first trailer makes sense because nobody would think that something big and alive (i.e., monster) was attacking the city; they'd all think it was terrorists or something political, but never a MONSTER. I mean, c'mon. When Hud or Hawk tells Rob "it's alive" in the ruined store, it's easy enough to imagine Rob not totally buying the reports of a monster attacking. Again - who would?!

So, give the writers and actors some leeway here, is all I'm sayin'.

Word.

I can't believe this is still a subject of contention.
