[PC] MMORPGs Hey yall. I recently became addicted to these games. You guys being the smartest people I know, tell me: What are the best ones? What does everyone play? I mostly do WoW and a little EQ now and then. Reccomend to me.
And heck, if you feel up to it, tell me what sever you play on and what your name is. I might run with you sometime.

I play WoW - Server: Dethecus, Alliance
Characters: Galgonir, Talnif
I also play CoH/CoV - Server: Triumph
Characters: Mister Vatican City (Global Heroics)
Granted, I spend much more time on WoW than anythin else.

I used to play WoW, but it got old fast. Guild wars was fun, until you hit level 20.

I played EQ2 for about 6 months, but it's just too time consuming for me to keep up along with all of my other interests.
I don't think my subscription runs out until next month though, so for now I still have a level 47 wizard and 22 mystic on The Bazaar server.

I've logged nearly 40 days of play time in the past year for WoW. It's fun, but takes alooot of time to master. Some people believe that the real game doesn't even start until you hit Max level of 60.
Also, there's an expansion pack coming out for it in the next couple months, so it'll definetly be more interesting for awhile.

The Matrix Online:
A great game if you are into the Matrix story.
Regular Live Events and a chance to impact official Matrix canon make this game unique.
Take a peek at any thread here:

MxO recently went under a combat revision, so fighting is now at a nice complexity and balance.
I've been playing since retail release, and some others from Unfiction and I are part of a well-established faction on the Vector-Hostile (PVP) server.
I play WoW too, since a lot of old high school pals play and the gameplay is nice, but MxO takes the cake for immersion and storyline fun, as well as a unique urban environment (Every floor of every building in the city is in-play).

We had a discussion about whether Uru (Myst Online: Uru Live) counts as an ARG. I'm ready to settle for MMORPG as a fitting description.

Then again, I must insist that you don't subscribe to URU thinking that its the same as WOW. You're not battling or raising stats, your playing an interactive story of sorts. It's an MMO, but it doesn't really have that RPG part. I like the new terminology that I read somewhere, MMOARG. It's a really fun game, but just don't subscribe thinking that you'll be polishing the ol' battle ax, instead, prep yourself for some intense puzzle solving, character interaction, and a little platforming.
I've been playing a lot of the Lord of The Rings Online Beta for the past couple weeks, and its a lot of fun. Graphically, its nice, and its pretty addicting. Right now its only in Closed Beta (I believe), but the Open Beta is upcoming (or might be already out, I don't keep track of dates very well) and I encourage everyone to give it a try while its still free of charge

WOW MMORPG Yeah, I'm stuck on WOW for the moment.
The game mechanics are solid and the play is, for the most part, entertaining. Graphics are insanely good and the music is top notch. PVP battlegrounds and arenas add another aspect to the game and although the giant raids aren't my thing, some people seem to enjoy them.
The "fun" level varies. On the one hand there's nothing like burning through a dungeon with a few of your guild members. In my opinion it's the group play that really makes it all worthwhile (even if you only pal around with one other person.) On the other hand you're sent on about a billion quests to get 20 leather or 20 rocks or 20 socks or 20 whatevers! Not only are many quests the same, most of the characters end up being identical. They look alike and they have the same powers.
Still it's the best I've played so far. So who's going to start the Unfiction Guild?
