Long time lurker, first-time poster, blah, blah...

From the Bold Futura synopsis on the Tagruato site,
"In the past, Bold Futura has partnered with military organizations, space exploration institutions, and arms manufacturers. Confidentiality is the first pillar of Bold Futura. We keep the identities, orders, and intentions of our patrons strictly to ourselves. "

So we have one subsidiary that is a govt. contractor and another that specializes in bio-engineering and genetic research (Yoshida Medical Research). This could certainly lend some credence to the idea of govt. involvement...

OT: Parallels with Lost

It's interesting, that "Tagruato Corp." has some parallels with Hanso Foundation, especially with its various subprograms.

To compare:

Hanso Foundation projects
* Mathematical Forecasting Initiative
* Worldwide Wellness and Prevention Development Program
* Mental Health Appeal
* Electromagnetic Research Initiative
* Institute for Genomic Advancement
* Life Extension Project
* Educational Outreach Imperative

Tagruato:

* YOSHIDA MEDICAL RESEARCH
* SLUSHO!
* BOLD FUTURA
* ParafFUN! Wax Distributors

=> Science meets Society, health meets environmental researches
=> both companies are "alien" in USA

OK, perhaps the most difference is: Hanso is a foundation, but Tagruato doesn't just support financially its projects, but also "ideologically".

I hope, Tagruato will make advertision compaign in real media, like Hanso Foundation did it. It were very JJ Abrams-esque.

I'm not sure that this is an art-house film, but I would enjoy it if the movie actually had some political meaning, however unlikely that may be. I enjoyed the political and social commentary of The Host, which was pretty harsh on the South Korean government and the US as well.

Discussing politics in relation to what you think the movie will be about is fine. As usual, let's respect each other's opinions, no need to get personal. It is possible to disagree without attacking the other person.

People like to see, what they think they want to see. When your only tool is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

When you live in a fishbowl, you don't notice the water.

Good to know we live in this movie of supposed political allegory.

When in doubt, I always err to the plot with the least amount of necessary exposition.

K.I.S.S? That sounds rather... sane.
