[INFO] [SPEC] The definition of Nectar
Indeed, maybe the monsters are attracted to it!

dictionary.com wrote:
1. A sweet liquid secreted by flowers of various plants, consumed by pollinators, such as hummingbirds and insects, and gathered by bees for making honey.

God... it just hit me... duh! Nectar is what attracts the birds and the bees. :')

Perhaps they harvest a bunch of the Nectar at that "oil rig" near NYC, dump the nectar into a tanker to be shipped to the city.

The monsters follow the tanker filled with the stuff, and when the ship is about to get to NYC, BOOM... ships explodes from a monster attacking it, the other monster pounces on the statue of liberty. Fun ensues.

(btw I know this has been said by people on way or the other... just hit me how it makes sense tied to the nectar and possible Tagruato harvesting there of... and the consistent mention of tankers on their website)

dictionary.com wrote:

2. Greek & Roman Mythology. The drink of the gods.
3. A delicious or invigorating drink.

... or it could the mutating sea life thing I mentioned before. :')

could very well be, i like the sound of the first one.

It could accidently blow up the freight ship, then thinking it was something attacking it, and seeing the SOL, he seeks revenge on the only thing around. Then seeing it was not real, he takes the head and hurls it towards the city, the next threat

I like this idea too. The monster is the pollinator!! and the Deep sea nector is the sweet liquid!

Ooooh! Good call my friend! That actually makes a lot of sense! The most sense yet in regards to the attack on the SOL...

... and damn, he didn't fuck around... went straight for the head!

being a ravenging monster i too would go for the head, without the head, the attacker no longer poses a threat.

But, besides being necessary for the plot, that doesn't explain why he decides to plow through NYC. How is Manhattan a "threat"?

Or perhaps he's just a clumsy oaf and decides to walk to Central Park, accidentally bumping a building or two, seeing all these cute little bipedal ants running around, minding his own business. Then the Army comes and *really* pisses him off.

Damn the Army! Why do you have to complicate everything?

Well, bees are not attracted to nectar at all. They are attracted by flowers. That's why they are so colorful. They've done studied with flower-naive bumblebees, and they go for flowers of certain colors over others. How would they be "attracted?"

Not saying it's not a nectar of sorts to them tho, although just it being a plain food source makes more sense.

My bad. You are correct sir.

Once again... maybe they are after their food.

The monster would be attracted by the Nectar which would be in everyone's bellies after consuming Slusho... threat? no. "delicious or invigorating drink"? yes.

maybe the nectar is like said before the monsters offspring like frog spawn and being the caring mother monster she is, she wants to protect her younglings, but before she can get them back into the sea, they hatch and grow when subjected to a nucular blast mutating them into 8 ft tall monsters from hell.
