 Secrets Revealed
C'mon Share your gossip - it's over, let's have some fun

So just for the record -

I have four accounts - tgi fridays, beckett samuels, homestarrunner, and jimbo.

I gave Hook's manifesto to Foo which caused me to get bumped up to yellow.

I betrayed alias angel to Foo for working with Hook. Not that much came of this.

The Red Group page was an msn group called Realistic Expectations for Discussion. There were ony three members. Smile

I suggested that Carmine Damask is Hook to Kropp and told him track her.

I've never talked to jdcool throughout this entire game - i really have no idea why people kept thinking we had something going on.

Other stuff i'm sure is equally unimportant, but which i'm happy to share...

Anyone else have any interesting dirt?

My plans come to nothing but...

*I inflirated the Protecatore and discovered Viewdude's secret idenity of Asa Sasha. I then rose to the rank of Officer of The Protectorate after passing "top secret" information to Asa Sasha (most of which are lies, half-truths and speculation). I assume that this makes me the second-highest ranking member of the Protecatore (other than Asa Sasha).

*I also concluded that lostfaith and pha1t was the same person.

*I became a permenant ally of TGI Friday who gave me inspiration for what to do and gave me direction.

*I 'recruited' homestarrunner to join up with TGI Friday. I am so much of a fool.

*I was the secret blog poster on Project Terminal, after joining up with m111 to change history and prevent the war. This was done to hijack Project Terminal, to turn it from an anti-DefenseCorp to a pro-DefenseCorp organization. It worked.

*I tried to recruit Agent Kropp into Project Terminal. He referred me to Foo.

*I found out that all Handlers had 'sniffers' and that Bishop was the person who was allowing people to use the 'sniffers' in order to pass secret information without getting caught. I ratted that information to Foo, Kropp, and ADPrince...to no effect.

*I tried to organize a brand new Corporation in Deus City, known as FreedomCorp, which would combine a love of Deus City with the promotion of liberal ideas and freedom. However, we were unable to secure any investors in the future, meaning our plans were futile. I got some present investors, DarkKnight Protector, and Nick_the_wolf.

*I attempted to contact Foo about organizing a secret 'united nations' for Corporations, where the Corporations can cooperate on how best to divide territory, in order to stop the Corporate Buyout Wars after all. Foo did not respond.

*An abanonded idea was to start up an IG-Gamejack, pretending to be an IG character and then trying to find out what people really believe, using the "IG" connections as a way to stop the rebels. The plan however got cancelled due to the game dying.

Umm I'm Transtar and Ashia.

And I did nothing (started becoming active too late).

I don't think I did much. Not sure why since I was in at the beginning. I didn't have any other identities. I don't remember hearing about Project Terminal or The Protectorate.

I'm one of I'm sure many who gave the sniffer to Theo.

I made the connections to locating the first folio page at the university.

I somehow seemed to be included in The Union without knowing why or how.

A lot of people from both sides approached me for discussions which seemed to go nowhere.

Well, I guess I was a founding member of Bunkercorp! Laughing

So many people I WAS talking and planning with sort of faded out like Morelaak and Trace.

I was one of originally 4 people to form a completely separate email/discussion group which included 2 reds and 2 greens. We never advertised ourselves though.

That's about it. I ended up with well over 2 million unspent credits and am currently the second highest agent prestige-wise (although I'm not sure how that happened, either!). I've also turned black.

Protectorate: Some time ago, Viewdude got an email from Asa Sasha recruiting people into the Protecatore, an organization that wants to unite all the factions together in Deus City to protect it.

And that's about it. No other goals. Nothing concerte. I deride it simply as an information sharing network. Few people actually joined, but since it was in the summer when the Interface had that storm, it touched off a flurry of Splinter Factions. Everyone was making their own faction. Many of the more 'established' factions, such as Agent Hook, was pretty angry about this trend.

Project Terminal: It is one of those splinter factions as well. It calls for reverting the Corporate Buyout Wars by getting the Corporations to work together. Once that happens, then the Corporations will be able to handle the aftermath of the Interface shutting down.

Hm... interesting stuff about my IG character...

Well, I can say I'm a contributor to BunkerCorp! Very Happy

I don't know, to be honest. Nothing I did was really "secret." I was told to be a spy for Foo, but I didn't want to be one, so I just did my own thing and found information. It was useful, since I could just say, "Hey, look, spy status!" and I'd be left alone for doing "un-red" things.

So I guess those would be my "interesting" things... spy and BunkerCorp contributor! Oh... and one of my emails were on Theo's (if that's really him, lol) Nostradame blog. Does that count...?

= the union was working very closely with chris brown of the future who was apparently the god-killer, tara mercer, and agent wavecrest who was our mole in the system.

= the manifesto was written specifically to be misdistributed to opponents of the union such as fujimoto and others.

= agent wavecrest has the copy of the union names cypher assuming she has not deleted the email. she should post it here. it is ridiculously complicated, though the only name encrypted with it was chris brown.

= the cypher that was fed to agents such as fridays and others was a false cypher concealing false information in order to lead them off the trail.

= although the information is now suspect due to the inability to know just when the god killer became chris brown, everything that i said about jenna jansen came straight from the email address of future chris brown.

= of my own accord i approached tara mercer and asked her to provide with me a false subcue identity, not really knowing that she was already doing this for many others. she vaguely agreed "an interesting thought... that gives me an idea" and we scheduled a meeting at the Rendezvous Cafe on Main Street for thirty years or so later. soooo future Hook almost certainly died at the hands of the god-killer, or so it would appear right now.
hmmm. that is all i can think of at the moment.

Alright. I changed alot. I started as a follower of Foo. I got bored as more "green" things were happening and tried to "discreetly" lead people away from him. It was pretty obvious and I was caught. Foo/Prince turned me green again. Annoyed, I told them I was trying to find loyal Foo supporters and report the opposition. Prince and I agreed that I would remain green and report directly to him and Foo. I also reported the sniffer and information about the folios. I befriended Ethan.

My main problem with being a spy was that I "befriended" characters and befriended players. So I held off on reporting my information to Foo about Hook. I also didn't turn in Bishop or Ethan when I had chances to.
Wolf Hawk and I are the founding members of Bunkercorp. Bunkercorp was created because of my annoyance with the PMs for not being active. Contributors are Silent, TGIF, and Wavecrest.

I played by the character named Okita.

Originally I had gotten into Deus City about half a year ago having nothing better to do with my time, Perplex City Stories having been canceled and my needing a new ARG to replace the ARG-shaped hole. At the time, I was thinking of planning and someday starting my own ARG and wanted to get more experience.

I liked Deus City because it was pVp which was a game mechanic that I had toyed with but D.C. implemented first. So I played it because I wanted to see how it worked out first hand.

I decided early on however that I would follow 2 self-imposed rules. These rules were to help me better understand ARG's.
1.) No outside help.
2.) Immerse my player character in the ARG as much as possible.

For the first rule, I basically pretended as if UF didn't exist, which is why I avoided posting until now. The way I figured was that while there are a lot of people who are a part of unfiction or got redirected to unfiction for more information, I was interested in seeing what it'd be like if a player didn't have those resources for things like back-story or other player interactions posted online. It's hard. You have to ask anyone/everyone for information and backstory or websites you could only get if you were originally there for the beginning of the game.

The second rule involved Okita having his own e-mail and blog in which he never hinted that he thought it wasn't a game. I toyed with different mechanics under that rule such as trying to come up with ways a player could affect the plot for the good of the community (the most interesting bit was a potential physical-space event that never really got anywhere). I was amused that a bunch of people started thinking I was a potential in-game character trying to solve the puzzle on my blog (which I never really meant to be that difficult).

The answer:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The first half is a substitution cypher where the key is simply the alphabet backwards. The second half underneath the 3 lines was a Solitaire Cypher whose key was "difficult". The decrypted message leads you to the fake blog for Okita.

I had hoped to start a small movement with regards to maintaining the status quo temporally but using the time communication to help those in the future (ex. through player time-capsule events). Amusingly enough only 2 people really cared, an in-game character and Chris Brown. Go fig. So I ended up spending a lot of time interacting with a few pc's, Bishop, and Chris Brown. Finally gave up when the PM's started flailing around in attempting to message everyone and was content with taking a backseat and watching the rest of it unfold.

I will miss the heated discussions online about pro v. con Defense Corp.

Although now that I think about it, I didn't do anything significant plot-wise. Heh, whoops.

Edit: Sidenote, during most of the game I was living in New Jersey on the border to NYC. Spent a lot of time on the riverside too. It was really really weird knowing I was playing a game where everything I could see across the river would be destroyed.

you were close. Lostfaith, me, and my brother, played together. We kept using each others accounts just to try and figure this all out. So you were half right, we were the same person, only there was two of us.
