People see what they want to see

This debate could be made till your blue in the mouth waiting for the cows to come home to get their whole kit-in-kaboodle( yea sorry , mixed metaphors, i know. ) People are gonna see what they wanna see in it based on what their beliefs are. The only ones who know for sure are the ones who wrote it. So u can speculate till the end of time, dont mean your gonna convince anyone one way or the other. And anyways, does it really matter. Seems some people on here try to way over analyze things sometime. , seeing things where there just isnt anything there at all to see. But to each their own. Im not gonna shit on anyone for having a certain point of view., as long as that view doesnt harm others Wink

New vid

Hey guys.

I put together a new vid. I combined all footage from the Teaser and the Trailer and sequenced them in order.

Cross-posting the vid-link is not needed, please don't do this. One post in the most appropriate thread is enough.

No problem - didn't even make me slightly grumpy and that's my normal state. Wink

[Humor]

I think you guys are missing the obivous. This movie is against obseity.

Guy drinks Slusho softdrinks--->Monster attacks New York. Connection? Of course!

Over 300,000 Americans die each year from this silent epidemic, thanks to us eating and drinking too much. The monster represent all the ills that people with obseity have, and all the modern convicences such as bombs and surgery may stop it in the short term, but not in the long term. The only way to stop obseity is through diet and excerise, excerise by running away from the monster, and diet by not drinking Slusho.

I have to say I was a bit surprised once I realised that the initial explosion happens about a block away from the WTC site.

The 9/11-connection has been pretty obvious ever since those pics of dusty, disoriented people stumbling through the crumbled streets of NY were posted on 1-18-08, and it was announced that the whole thing was gonna be filmed with digicam. We've seen it before, and not in no feature movie.
Nothing, I mean NOTHING, has scared the americans like the shaky handheld homevideos that was broadcasted from 9/11. Nothing ever felt so damn real. JJ would be a fool not to reconstruct that if he wants to scare us.

And no harm in that. Its a pretty reasonable way of dealing with a national disaster, for him personally and for america as such. Hollywood has long been a prefered way of dealing with national traumas.

I made a case for this exact thing in another thread a few days ago.

That being said, i do believe this is a bit of an artistic expression of 9/11, but don't believe that's where it ends. I don't find it odd at all that a movie that revolves around large corporations damaging our environment comes out around the same time that people are in an uproar about global warming. In this movie, coporations destroying our environment=unstoppable monster.
Yes, that's right...the monster is AlGorasaurus.

My fear is this... Hollywood has gone so far to the left that this movie may have be a statement on man's neglect or poor treatment of the environment. It might also be an antiwar movie

Why, because it's SOOO far 'leftist' to be concerned about environmental damage? It's SOOO liberal to find war a terrible thing?

You let your personal politics get in the way of your post here.
