lol, I agree with you WThree. I don't really see it. Sorta, but it's way too vague.

EDIT: And I don't see it 4cast. It just looks like pixels to me.

In the Octopus shadow thing I see a gorilla with a claw hand.

The gorilla head and left shoulder is on the left of the octopus and its arm is stretching to the top right of the octopus with its hand open.

The bottom of the picture is also very peculiar. My brain can't put together and understand the geometry of the bottom.

4cast is right, I'd been thinking that was writing at first, but if you zoom out it looks like a wrist and three scaly fingers.

I think the "hand" is more then likely just like the mysterious person behind ganu, a effect from the photoshop/paint manipulation that could not get fixed.

Also, I doubt it is a ruined statue of Liberty because this "cause" has no idea NY is gonna get wiped out. And even if they had a vague idea of a NY threat, they would not know exactly how the statue gets defaced.

I think your gorilla head is just an illusion in the rocks, but the arm is definitely drawn.

Here's what I see, Swimming monster? There's a number 2 also.

Hold your computer screen so that the arms are downward. They look like legs with a tail in between them.

It could be a whale/fish thing with legs and a tail.

Yeah that's what I see, the upper right leg doesn't seem to be there, but I filled it in anyway.

I think there is writing in hiragana (native Japanese characters) on the top right leg thing written in the same color as the number 2.

There are three characters...

KO TO SHI (?)
RI TO SHI (?)

I don't see the hiragana, but this Romaji-to-English translator gives "kotoshi" as "this year", with no entries found for "ritoshi"

However, hiragana is used as a pronunciation guide; for example, if a Japanese person needs to say the word "super", they write the hiragana for "su" and "pa". So it wouldn't make sense either way; since they're using hiragana, they're not referring to the Japanese word 'kotoshi'/this year, and there's no English word, as far as I know, pronounced like "kotoshi" or "ritoshi".

Hirigana is used for Japanese words with Katakana for foreign words.
But KOTOSHI would be written in Kanji, I think.

Anyway, I don't really see the writing, I think it's just the highlight of the creature's foot, It seems to be drawn with a dark colour and a highlight colour, it just looks a bit sloppy on that leg.

I definitely see the hand on the guy's shoulder though, it's not an artifact.
It's weird because I'd already saved a picture of it for what I thought was writing, and I couldn't see it at all then. Now I can't unsee it!

It would explain the why they've added a black area above his shoulder too.

As for the bottom of the picture, I've no idea, but the original picture is pretty weird in the black areas already.

Kotoshi would be written in Kanji. However, if they wrote it in kanji it would be blaring out at us. Maybe there are just random marks which look like hiragana. I showed my dad and he sees the hiragana, too. I am not fluent in Japanese but I am a nisei.

I can not see the hand at all, though. I definitely see that there's discoloration. I am on an old sony laptop right now. I'll check it out on my cinema display when I get on my mac pro. People have already tried playing all around in Photoshop with this, right?

ok, this is a little abstract. i was thinking about the squid having a 2 next to it ans was wondering what elze might be in the pic. well i found that the wave has 2 joker faces on it(one is upside down). the crab has 6 legs. there seems to be an upside down and backwards 5 in the center of the octopus and the ogre fish has a bacwards 4 on his face. I.6 II.5 III.2 IV.4 and a joker (2, J, 4, 5, 6 and the hand) maybe a card game reference or I'm losing my mind....
the shape of their bodies match the playing card suits too http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff4/twillman/faces.jpg
