Some random stuff.

1. Do we know that the group calls itself "the Cause", or is that just what we're calling for lack of knowing?

2. As for the name of our group, I think we should try to stay on script. That is, behave as if we're characters too--meaning we have no knowledge of what's to come.

3. To be honest, I'm a bit burned out at this point. But if I weren't, I'd start work on a "Press Release" regarding Tagruato's "Concerning the RRC Article" and the suppression of Dr. Abe's findings/document... Maybe someone could start it and make it a collaborative effort here in the forum.

1. The Cause is what it's become known as, so, whether it's its real name or not (which I doubt it is), our name should be different.

2. Strictly speaking, we have very little knowledge of what's going on, anyway

Since I like writing as much as I like making shit up, I'll help with anything creative I can think of

I think it's rather a given - and was clearly expressed by Eddy - that his site wouldn't be an official part of the CLOVERFIELD game.

Also, since it's Eddy's site and Eddy's idea (and a great one too), I suggest letting him run the show on his site. He's not bound by anyone's rules. I think the idea is totally brilliant. THAT'S what being a real fan is about!

Good luck to you Eddy! Bring down the Tagruato beast!

You have my sword, my bow, my axe, and my computer. I'm crazy for any opportunity at writing imaginary bullshit, and this is a good place to start, lol. I would look forward to contribute to this, the stern, law-abiding, role-model big brother of "The Cause". Because this idea is freaking brilliant. Much props to you, Eddy.

As for names, I really like the lifting from Ancient Greek mythology idea (it's a very pretentious, activist-group thing to do; kinda reminds me of the Fishes in Children of Men, that being a reference to Christianity and all). How about Calcys (he's the guy who said "Beware of Greeks, even when bearing gifts" in the Aeneid) or, one I find particularly interesting, the Brendanites or Jasconites. This last one is based on the story detailed below -
"Jasconius is an enormous fish in the story of Saint Brendan. Because of its size Brendan and his fellow voyagers mistake it for an island and land to make camp. They celebrate Easter on the sleeping giant's back, but awaken it when they light their fire. They race to their ship, and Brendan explains that the moving island is really Jasconius, who labors unsuccessfully to put his tail in its mouth."
If you follow this link - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspidochelone - it gives a Latin basis for this Jasconius creature as a symbol for following the devil and being destroyed by his deception, which could have really neat connotations to sea nectar and Targruato. Just my two cents.

eh... I'm not sure what do you mean with that. unfiction game? This ain't our game. We're just some of the many players around. Which is why we needed to clarify that, so there's some announcement on Eddy's site and those who play the CLOVERFIELD game but don't know nothing about unfiction don't mistake us for part of the game.

And there's no harm in directing some people over here Wink So linking uF from there is a great idea Eddy.

Well, if we find out the name of the organization behind the Tagruato hack and it's not already used, I think TIDOO would be a great name for our group. If they use "The Cause" or TIDOO I wouldn't use either of those, but "Friends of Dr. Abe" would be slick - we'd be the FDA!
Very Happy

Much like the I Love Beer parody to ILB, we could parody the storyline of this ARG(ARE/ARA/whatever) in a tongue-in-cheek yet somehow serious way. Maybe it's just a matter of my preference, but it would rock if this were written in a really ironic but totally deadpan way. But not so much as to disconnect it from the game...you know...like a bunch of not-so-bright but well-intentioned yuppies wanting to get into this whole "environmentalism" shindig. Just a suggestion...

Also, wouldn't it be cool if we were mentioned/attacked in the ARG? I'd pay to have Tagruato call my research methods suspicious.

Sidenote: Aww dangit. The Kl00 label's gone. Does this crop up again at 420 posts? Cuz if it does, you better believe some post whoring is in order Wink of course I'm kidding

I've got it. We should name it Cthulhu!

Corporation

Hates
Unfiction,
Lovers of

Guess that would be more of a satire of the company we're fighting against (Tagruato)....i still say we do it!

Oooo, I like that.
It relates nicely yet is in a juxtaposition appropriate to our relationship with the story. If you see our involvement as the effects of 'The Cause' then it puts a division between us where we are not the impelling force behind the story of 'The Cause' but are the result of it. Appropriate for an audience, don't you think?
