The new post on the Chuai incident is great! A lot more subtle than I would have done it, which is probably a good thing.

Still gives off too much information, and, playing as OOG-looking-IG,it would too readily reveal to Tagruato - who would no doubt be keeping tabs on such a group as The Effect - that there's a whistleblower, and they'd clamp down something terrible. So, it's a good idea, but it'd have to be dumbed-down and made shady something terrible.

Do we really think we can change the way JJ set out to have this film marketed? I don't. We get clues based on a pre determined timeline. Nothing we say in this forum or on "The Effect"is going to alter the outcome of the viral marketing campaign. IMHO....

Edited cuz I'm retartet

they are making the choice to leak

The producers made the choice to 'leak' the message, not to a character myspace site, but directly into OUR hands. If the message gets out and affects Tagruato's actions, then I assume the puppet masters have planned for this, and so their reactions will seem all the more real if the warning message is publicly talked about. I think these 'breakdowns' in secrecy are very real world, and the producers are counting on it. Maybe not on Eddy's site in particular, but they know folks like us would take action one way or another.

They are helping to blur the line between art and life, creating entertaining tension. Each day we are getting closer and closer to a 'real' event, in both worlds. He didn't start calling the project 1-18-2037...it's intentionally supposed to be events happening in our time, speeding towards...

Added tidowave as a friend of The Effect.

Kid, I haven't forgotten about you, just a bit busy with real life is all.

And can I just say, "Cool."

Not sure if tidowave makes The Effect that much more worthwhile, or irrelevant. Let me know.

Submitted a comment to tidowave.

Quote:
Greetings TIDOWave. The Effect is currently in possession of insider documents alleging criminal conduct of a magnitude that, if proven true, will serve as a very large stick in the fight to bring down Tagruato. Out of concern for the whistle blower, we are a bit limited on the details we can share, but you can perhaps begin to appreciate the damning potential of the allegations from our report.

Regards,
The Effect

I don't think that it makes The Effect irrelevant.

We are OOG so don't let it bring down your idea. I've noticed that whatever happens IG (we get a glimpse of the monster, tagruato hacked, tidowave, etc) grows old fast.

The Effect is still fun though.

Keep up the good work

Hey, um, whoever the OP is, we should change the headline from "in the spirit of the Cause," to "in the spirit of TIDO" or "in the spirit of TIDOWAVE".

TIDOWave - our evil twin brother is found!

And PaytonScott and KidReviewer, I see your points. It's just, y'know, I wanted us to be, y'know, authentic...In fact, I think how it was eventually handled was great, and if I hadn't been too busy yelling NOOOOOO!!!! at the top of my lungs, that would've been how I did it. Laughing Good work, whoever posted that up.

Couple administrative changes:

1. Turned comment moderation on. That means, a moderator will have to approve comments before they appear on the blog. Taking tidowave's lead on this. Admins, I'm going to set up automatic forwarding of comments pending notification to your inboxes. That means, you'll start receiving emails telling you comments are awaiting approval. Drop me a note if you don't want these emails.

2. Because we now have an IG friend in tidowave, and because only one of my fellow bloggers has responded to my request to be a Friend of The Effect, I'm going to unlist my blog and unfiction as Friends. Better to avoid the appearance that I'm trying to drive traffic to my personal blog and to be honest, I really don't want to be in the position to tell people their blog doesn't belong as a Friend.

Makes sense, and it's probably a good idea. Of course, this is moments before I was going to write my little blurb about my blog. Oh well, at least I read your comment first. Wink

Kid's article is posted. In the future, authors, if you could include relevant links in your copy I'd appreciate it.

It's my job to ask - seeing as Tidowave are moderating out opposition comments, are we going to do that as well?
