I think our motto should be: we are nice and we protect animalz.

It's not catchy and has no ring to it whatsoever.

Btw Bacon Army that banner is rad.

Where to begin?

- So yes, an email to tagruatoDOTexposedATbloggerDOTcom will publish on the blog. Email's subject line will be the subject line of the post. Email's text will be the text of the post. I recommended gmail for the task because they don't put advertising in the footers of their emails, so nothing to edit out later. Nevertheless, feel free to use any email account you wish.

- A set of almost all of Tagruato's graphics is here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/10246432@N06/sets/72157602262359870/

Hand/Earth Header: http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=1486047836&context=set-72157602262359870&size=o

- So I need to invite people to contribute to the blog (i.e. become blog authors). The blog send address above is imperfect as best, and ripe for abuse. I think the best way to work it will be to treat this thread like our editorial board. If you have an idea for a post, write it up and post it here first, where others can give you editorial pointers/suggestions/corrections. I'm not talking a high bar here, just a system to ensure a post is thoughtful, and in character. Once we have a final version, a blog author can then upload it to the blog. The more authors, the more flexible we'll be. Make sense? Alternatively, as I have it now, the blog doesn't attribute authorship to the person who posted it. So basically everything that appears on the blog will be a joint statement. If, however, authors want credit for their contributions, I'll add blog authors. In that case, it will be your responsibility to become a blog author and to post your own material. If the latter, I'd still like for us to post our stuff here in the forum first to get some feedback prior to posting it to the blog.

- Step one, email me and I'll send you an invitation to become a blog author. The email is tagruatoATgmailDOTcom.

- Step two, start writing and editing copy. We could use a post about us, a post about Tagruato, a post about Dr. Abe's findings. One more point about copy. Good writing makes or breaks a blog.

- Header Logo: Nice work on the various headers. The width should be in the range of 660px. My preference would be to ape or mock Tagruato, or at least follow their color scheme. The reason is this. Eventually, one of our goals (when we're ready for prime time) will be to bomb google (*), so that when someone searches "Tagruato" our protest blog either gets top billing or we're right there next to the real Tagruato. The aim being consistent with our groups goal of expose Tagruato. Anyway, I'll keep rotating the various banners until we settle on one.

p.s. Apologies if I'm starting to sound like a general. Weekends aren't the best time for me to be playing online.

I know, it's suspiciously familiar, but meh...

Yeah, it sounds nothing like the Heroes quote, "Save the cheerleader, save the world." Not suspiciously familiar in any way, whatsoever. Smile

EDIT: Btw, sick banner Patrick. I wanna try to make one, if you don't mind me borrowing the logo.

May I just point out that either the banner needs to be made shorter or the blog page needs to be made wider. Because the banner jutting out the side of the borders makes The Effect look...unprofessional.

I suggest an editorial distancing ourselves from the hack. It's important that a) we distance ourselves from being 'involved' in the game and b) that we distance ourselves from The Cause - them being the more illicit group.

I think this is a good idea.
And, that's all I have to say. Very Happy

Short article notion - where is Dr Abe now?

WHERE is Dr. Abe?

With Tagruato having pulled all copies of Dr. Abe's expose article on 'kaitei no mitsu' from the Ravaille Research Center's journal, there's a virtual media blackout on the researcher himself. All attempts by The Effect to locate Dr. Abe's current whereabouts have thus far failed - and so have our attempts to get answers from Tagruato's directors.

Backtracking from the information gleaned from our fragmented copy of the article has led nowhere but to confused and frustrated scientists who claim, it seems truthfully, to know nothing of what's going on. Further, the research on the Australian 'Aphynos' that Tagruato claimed was so controversial in its last investor article, has also gone missing from public record.

To slander or libel is a crime - but it is no crime to question. What does Tagruato know about seabed's nectar that it seems desperate to keep from the world? Why does Dr. Abe's research have Tagruato's investors scared? And where is the doctor now?

We'll continue to keep investigating. Please contact us if you have any information.

-The Effect

(OOC suggestion: Put a link to the image of the journal page somewhere from the second paragraph's 'our fragmented copy' section)

Press Release Idea
Regarding the Thanksgiving Hack of Tagruato.jp

In case you were not aware, this Thanksgiving holiday saw the momentous hacking of the Tagruato website by somebody disgusted and concerned with the undeniably heinous damages Tagruato is inflicting on our oceans' ecosystems.

However, in light of this event and in order to protect ourselves from any public blame or litigation doled out by Tagruato, we at The Effect are denying any responsibility for the hack committed on the Tagruato website this weekend. As members of The Effect, we are dedicated to revealing to the public the hard, disturbing truth about Tagruato's deep-sea drilling activities and the actions of their subsidiaries – ParafFun, Slusho, Yoshida Medical Research, and Bold Futura. However, we do not intend, and have never intended, to commit illicit and subversive actions to convey our message, and have consistently opted to distance ourselves from the illegal actions of some of the more radical groups protesting against Tagruato's environmental misconduct. No matter what manner of lies and slander Tagruato may throw our way, we are not responsible for this event, and have always conveyed our message via legitimate channels.

Tagruato will not stop in order to defame us and our cause by associating us – without base – with more illicit groups who share our aims and visions – to stop Tagruato's deep-sea drilling and damaging of the deep-sea ecosystems. Do not let Tagruato's deceitful methods detract from our message. They will deliberately attempt to divert your attention from their misconduct by painting us as the criminals, but keep steadfast in the knowledge that we are not what they say, and they are not what they say.

- JASCONIUS.

The sketchy outline of the Tagruato logo-in-flames was bugging me, so I made one minor change...
