Translate
Binary

If it's binary, this is what I'm getting. I dont recognize it. At first glance it looked like HTML. Maybe someone will recognize a pattern in it.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
& # 209 ; & # 208 ; & # 732 ; & #141 ; & #8211 ; & #8250 ;

EDIT: Apparently it is some sort of code. When I post it,(without spaces) the board automatically converts it into weird symbols. Even if I disable the HTML and BB codes.

are you still working on the blinking lights in the animated .gif?
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Take the sets in vertical columns, and treat the lit lights as zeros and the dark bulbs as ones (and here i've rotated the columns to horizontal to make the binary for decoding):
00101110
00101111
01100111
01110010
01101001
01100100
00110100

./grid4

That's what it decodes to, but I didn't really see how it leads anywhere.

LOL! I cant believe I didn't reverse the zero's and one's!! Laughing

Good Job Catherwood!!! Very Happy

It's an extension for a log in screen on the website. I haven't been able to see the video so, I dont know if there is a clue to the log in on it. At first glance I thought the coordinates on the main page would be the X and Y for the log in. Still leaves the A, though.

Something interesting...

Neumann/Turing is the model from which all personal computers evolved.

"It can be argued that although the von Neumann/Turing architecture contained the crucial features of the modern computer, the implementations of these in electronic valve (tube) technology were too severely limited in reliability and size to exploit these features properly."

http://www.dai.ed.ac.uk/homes/cam/fcomp.shtml

I don't know what, if anything, that has to do with the game, but it's somewhere to start looking, right?

found a couple things, haven't been able to do anything with them yet.

1. in the source code for the main page, there are two lines of 8 letter groups, each group 5 letters long:

Code:
SVSGR RAZRZ OREFB SQRZB YVGVB AGRNZ YBFGB AFHOY
RIRYG JBABE GUBSN HKVYV NELOH VYQVA TNAVA RERAQ

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
when you attempt to put anything into the X: Y: A: fields on grid4, you are limited to only 5 letters in each field. so it seems we have to use a combination of three of these groups, or at least that these groups will factor into the solution in some way.

2. searching the source code on grid4, there is a small section of comment text near the top:

Code:
MK-RATIO-----------
Menwith Hill-------
Probably not logged
rhodamine123-------

MK-RATIO: the only place i could find this phrase was in various medical journals referring to the ratio of a population with MK disease, caused by this bacterium---http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/Mkansasii_6717.shtml.

Menwith Hill: Menwith hill is a RAF airbase eighty miles west of Menwith in the UK. it is the principal NATO theater ground segment node for high altitude signals intelligence satellites. It is the world's largest intelligence-gathering ground station outside the US. it is also know as field station F83. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menwith_Hill.

probably not logged: i don't know, just some words. it'll probably show up again later, please make a note of it.

rhodamine123: Rhodamine 123 is a fluorone dye, part of the Rhodamine family of dyes, used in biochemistry to inhibit mitochondrion function. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rhodamine.

the unfortuante thing is, none of this makes much sense quite yet. the fact that it references RAF Menwith Hill definitely points us in the direction of deep surveillance and top secret government operations, and the MK-RATIO leads to the obvious biological weapon thoughts. but the rhodamine 123 reference is puzzling. and what the hell is with "Probably not logged"?

this is really interesting. added to my watchlist.

I found another reference to mk ration, its listing in a patent here is the link

www.freepatentsonline.com/20050082676.html

also, when you get to the failed login screen there are these comments

Code:

S-Fail: request originator IP forwarded to Leitrim over SIPRNet.
Coordinates are fully 404-compliant.

Leitrim is a county in ireland
SIPRNet is a military network...

edit: I also found this image while investigating the css file for the site.

That's quite possible and would put my chem knowledge to work. This is quite the tough cookie.

It's possible based on the references to all theses chemicals, this could be some sort of biological warfare thing? Maby they were using human test subjects (in reference to the note about behaverial abnormalities), and things got out of hand? Edit: looking around Google, I noticed Mitochondial disease, which is caused by issues with the mitochrondrial vaccoules in cells, specificly affecting mtDNA, or mitocondrial DNA.. Treatment of the disease is very limited, and research is still being conducted. I'm not sure if any of this could be related, but since were talking about diseases, it might.

UPDATE: new text on the server log at the bottom of the topsite...

Quote:
CODE MAROON: multiple unauthorized read-over-HTTP access events from public networks. Emergency lock-down.

looks like they know what we're doing Smile .

EDIT FOR BIGGER UPDATE: there's a new video up on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Az2Q7Nmvnq0

The video looks like a whole bunch of mechanical equipment, grafted into something that looks very organic (a heart? Shocked ). about halfway through you get a flash of words in the video:

Quote:
CONTACT:

FIND EGG
prim_ax_point
image

so start tearing prim_ax_point.html apart Smile . looks like we're going to need a desteg or something.

MINI-EDIT: looked at the image on prim_ax_point on its own, the file is 50kb, and the alt text says: "The image "http://xenomata.com/ntmcscr1/autovert_s.gif" cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.". i've attached a copy at the bottom of the page.

GOD MAN WHAT THE HELL WITH THE EDITS: also found this in the source code of prim_ax_point...

Code:
6E.74.6D.63.73.63.72.31
2F.64.69.73.6A.6F.69.6E
74.7A.32.2E.67.69.66.::
:C.:C.:S.:I.:D.:5.:0.:0

dunno what we're supposed to do with it yet. does anyone recognize it as anything?

RETURN OF THE EDITING EDIT: oops, that's the exact same as the hex on the beacon page.... whoops Razz.

(man, i love being the first to find something new! Laughing )

The strange code up there is hexadecimal, I think it was already solved. But the picture derently contains some text in the backround. I'll see what I can do. I don't have any of those fancy Photoshop programs, but I do have Gimp.
