With the site down does anybody have a backup of that CEO letter mentioned earlier? I'd like to see that.
I played around with that RGB separated GIF a bit but could not find anything useful by shifting the channels or viewing the source. Are there any steg detectors for GIF files?

I ran the image through camoflage, hide in picture and either I didnt guess the password correctly, or their is nothing that those can find. I ran camofinder which is supposed to find a password from a steno file, but it just returned giberish... so no luck on that front so far
EDIT: ok, I have run the image through about 5 more tools, and cant find anything. I am at a loss

possible image solutions I showed a friend of mine the image that doesnt seem to have a solution yet... here is what he came up with.
here is something interesting
Code:
In heraldry, vert is the name of a tincture roughly equivalent to the colour "green". It is one of the five dark tinctures (colours). Vert is portrayed in black and white engravings by lines at a 45 degree angle from upper left to lower right, or indicated by the use of vt. as an abbreviation.

0.0 i see a demon!!!
but seriously, that's great. it looks like the PM is setting up the background story of the ARG before actually doing anything major with it. all of his stuff is coded messages about what he's doing at the moment. hopefully, he'll evolve the game past that to actual PM/player interaction (phone calls maybe? oh please please please.... )

First one I see the Icon of Sin.
Second reminds me of... an Xenomorph.
Maybe this has to do with AvP2?
And both images remind me of Giger...
However, the "motor skills" crap don't seem like it. There's a rouge AI or something, possibly a robot causing the killings.

going to see if there's relationship beetween
"tangerine" and "loopback"
and going to have a close look to the image
P.S.

this looks promising. got some further reading to do, but first, a note on SIPRNET: this is a classified DoD computer network and is never allowed to contact the civillian internet in any way. even to the point that no thumb drives ever attached to a SIPRNET computer are allowed to be connected to a non-SIPR computer. I work with SIPRNET, and infosec violations like that are treated very seriously.
edit: did some snooping, found http://www.xenomata.com/css/main.css dont see it mentioned anywhere, unless im blind. did we get the image from the comment
Code:
/* ../ntmcscr1/runningshot_nov13.jpg */

eehhmmm zeikhunter, maybe you're actually blind X) (joking)
look at page 2 of the thread...
anyway till now we got a lot of images....
what about the desteg??
and if anybody has a backup of the document with the black lines from scanit.php, please post it.
i was thinking (also if i think that is useless) that till now we got reference to 3 colors:
- the code MAROON in the mainpage some time ago
- the autoVERT. in the name of the strange picture
- the status: TANGERINE on the mainpage yesterday
probably useless
anyway always more sure that we need to desteg the images...anyone can tell me a good linuz software to do that??

update on the main page
now the
status: azur
colours again....
and in the source:
Quote:
a = 'CMYK'
b = a[0]
c = 'x' + expand(b) + ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1, Subcommittee 29, Working Group 1
going to try to figure that out...
EDIT:
ok, found something...
probably some kind of rebus..
so b = a[0] = C
c = 'x' + expand(C) + ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1, Subcommittee 29, Working Group 1
ISO/IEC Joint Technical Committee 1, Subcommittee 29, Working Group 1 = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joint_Photographic_Experts_Group
so maybe we had to replace that with 'jpeg'???
i can't get what has to give the function expand()....
when we figure that out probably we can try with
xexpand(C).jpg ....
EDIT2:
heheheh GOT IT
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
www.xenomata.com/xcyan.jpeg
now i can just wait.....
