[QUESTION] Katei No Mitsu?

We originally got a photo with a recipe on the back.
The searching recipe's "secret ingredient" took us to McDoob's review; which took us on to Targuato.jp
As far as I know, Katei No Mitsu (sp) is deep sea nectar, which is the Shusho secret ingredient, Correct?

In a recent post, a Ravaille Research Center (sp) claimed to have tested this mystery ingredient. Shortly thereafter Targuato said that they could not have tested the ingredient because it is not available outside of their "sealed factories".

But, for the original chef to be using the ingredient it would have to be available, as the restaurant review stated that many people were there eating that special dish. Correct???

So what is the truth?

The date of the recipe card may be from the same time period(the future) as the rest of the pictures on 1-18-08. By then it may be more widespread. That may be explained.
This can't:

called Chef Nakamura to my side, clapped him upon the back, and demanded an explanation. I quickly realized my mistake, as Nakamura is a somewhat long-winded fellow. The recipe, he blabbered, was sent to him by his brother, a fellow chef working in Tokyo, where it had been gaining favor in some of Japan's most well-renowned restaurants. It contained the finest ingredients money can buy, from fresh bay leaves imported by a company called Fotopoulos Herb Gardens in Crete, to something the Japanese call "kaitei no mitsu", or "Seabed's Nectar", shipped in dry ice by a company out of Honshu called Tagruato.

Another sloppy mistake made in the last week.

There are a few options to explain it. First, Tagruato is spinning the truth like a top- the seabed's nectar as a raw, unprocessed ingredient is unavailable to the public, but the extract (called the same thing) is sold to select restaurants or provided to Tagruato-owned establishments. Second, employees low on the food chain are pocketing some Kaitei along the production line and selling it on the black market to restaurants around the world (this seems highly unlikely). Finally, they may have made it available in the past but have decided to cut off the supply as of that post.

Corporations are sneakier than politicians. Somewhere in their press release is a grain of truth- it's just not the truth they're trying to put out there.
