I was going to ask where Jade should look from/on the path, but I didn't think he'd get it in time to use it.

So "below the grass" either means he's dead, or he's south of the plains.

Not that Smoke is ever any help, at all.

I thought I'd mention that while I can't any "tulsa" references in the St Pete/Tampa area, there is a "W. San Jose Street" whose eastern terminus is close to "Fred Ball Park"

Some very interesting stuff regarding the numbers 119 and 153. I'm to tired to summarize them right now. The main thing I want to point out is that the only place I can manage to find any significance of the two numbers together is the reference to Psalms 119 verse 153. Which basically says "Help Me."

Another thing, more or less half way through that video, Jade says my space not my face notice how his lips form the sound of "sp" in space and not the sound of "f" in face. So makes me think we have a myspace page to find.

Next he put emphases on these two phrases, not saying it means anything but that I noticed the change in the tone of his voice when he said them.
Quote:
In the knot hole. Under the water

Finally at the end he makes a point of reminding petunia about coffee. I can't help but think that is a clue. He says:
Quote:
Aye Aye Capn

I'm sure I will think of more when I've had some rest. Oh and PMs, if 119 was some tricky way of bringing 23 into this thing, well, all I can say is, how TRICKY on your part.

At the moment, and I think Typoxic in chat pointed it out first, it would seem logical to bring the numbers down like so:
Code:

point the sky

trust the sun

 gate the river

light the way
  far 119 east
  far 153 south

Another thing, in the video, Jade made a point of showing the towers. They maybe our starting point. For example the thing that is "point the sky."
Next "trust the sun" the sun rises in the east travels through the southern sky and sets in the west.
Next "gate the river." petunia pointed out in chat this could mean a damn.

So, if we start at the tower(s) and follow the direction of the sun until we come to a damn in a river, just maybe we will have the spot. The numbers could be distance as in steps, feet, cubics, meters, miles, etc.. Or something like once we get the starting point we go 119 in the direction of east then 153 in the direction of south. And then it could not have anything to do with any of this and be something so simple we can't see it.

Myspace is famous for bad pictures people have taken of themselves, so the "myspace" moment was him holding the camera out and looking into it. It would have been better if he'd held the camera up to a mirror to film himself, but out in nightmare swamp territory he had to improvise. At least, that's what I got out of it.

"Point the sky" still mystifies me. It's not "point to the sky" or "find a point in the sky", it's just "point". It makes me think a conical lens must be involved somehow (not really, but that's the kind of wild speculation it's engendering on my part). If the towers are involved somehow, that would be a huge relief. I suspect it might have been him laughing about how "wilderness" the "park" is, with its huge electrical towers.

Maybe we're meant to go somewhere that directions might be playing tricks on us? Why trust the sun? And why "far"? Just for aesthetic balance, to make everything center so nicely? Gah.

I fixed up some google images for what I think is going on. Click on each image to see a larger view.

This images is facing North and shows where Jade entered the park at the bottom and the bridge at the top. Jade enters the park at the lower right marker and the bridge is all the way at the top marker. Notice tower number 1 to the right of where Jade enters the park.

This is facing North and a closer up view of the park and the locations of towers number 2 and 3 and the bridge.

This is facing South and is a close up of the Levee, what I believe to be the starting point, and hopefully the location of the next meet up/drop. If we go 119 yards east from the Levee then 153 yards south of that point. We should end up right at the entrance to the parking area of the park.

This is the same as the above only facing North and is a close up of the Levee and what I hope to be the location from Philly's poem for the next spot for a meet up/drop.

Note: this may all may be totally wrong. But for right now it's the best I can do.

Maybe punctuation has been left out making "point the sky"" point, the sky" or "point: the sky"

Like the new icon, Sylvia.

We should ask Slider, even though he apparently hasn't had a clue about any of the previous stuff. Paul, you want to get this one? I'm out of gay jokes.

I just got a reply, and the mystery of Whether Slider Can Whistle is solved.

He wished you to cavort somewhere, that's for sure. Believe me when I say I have no more insight into his motives than you do. I'm just the messenger, more or less. And in light of that, let's be clear on something: anything that looks like apophenia on my part is just speculation meeting paranoia through the avenues of experience. We, that is to say our group, are in the business of noticing patterns and divining meaning, but rest assured we are not paranormal investigators. We're not paranormal anything. The truth is really boring; we like puzzles, and that's how we got involved in this. Someone knew we liked puzzles and gave us one, and that one led into more until here we are.

My Dear Luke,

My but isn't this thread of messages turning into a festive Fat Tuesday float?

You've no idea what a weight it is off my poor head - and let me tell you, my noggin has seen better days after that little bacchanal the other evening - to know that neither you nor yours have been whispering to ghosts. What a sad, misguided lot they are.
Luke wrote:
I'm not an expert on the frequency of reprints of the Amphitheatrum, and I also don't know what the ritual was meant to accomplish. The imagery was dull; as I understand it I think it involved "iron" and "dying sun"(s). I didn't see anything that made it seem striking compared to any other "paranormal" rituals I've seen. The only difference is we're charged with finding out where a copy of this one came from. Ultimately, this is what we came to you about, to find out more about the ritual itself. It would seem you don't know anything about it, so we keep talking to you because you're so charming.

What a card you are, dear Luke. I do so hope it's not the Tower. I am by means expert either, but if young master Phillip had a particular interest, and if it was written in English (but a translation from some other tongue), then chances are it is not more than 100 or so years old. I know that doesn't help, but then again I don't suppose it hurts, either.
Luke wrote:
So perfection is an ice sculpture of a goose? Maybe it's jarring juxtapositions coexisting for some kind of greater effect. I don't know what your idea of perfection is, but I can think of a few aspects of mine. Could be old fashioned of me, but tiny little kegs don't factor.

Anyway, QS, if there's anything you can think of that might be relevant, just whistle. You know how to whistle, don't you?

Oh, and here I thought you were perhaps sincerely an "ice"-thete (just couldn't help myself). Alas, sincerity is so hard to find these days. As to whistling; interestingly, no.

Waiting for QS reply.....
....and as I type this it arrives!!

Just about to say I'd emailed QS but hadn't heard back when it pops into my mailbox......cue twilight zone theme Laughing

My original:

Quote:
Hi QS,

Thought I'd let you know the outcome of the cryptic message left by
Philly (as it was intended for you). Question first
though......would Philly enjoy seeing you running round the wilds of
Florida in your plus fours scrabbling after obscure clues, and why
(does he hate you that much or just wants to show he is superior in a
way)?

Anyhow, the outcome of a trek into the wilds was another message:

(screen shot of message included)

Now does that mean anything to you (of course not (grin)), and does
it look like Philly's writing? We need to check we aren't being
given the run around by a third party.

We also had a message from our favourite smoking temptress who, when
asked where we could find Philly, responded with "west of Tulsa, east
of San Jose below the grass"...we're hoping below the grass doesn't
mean he's dead.........

Sorry to end on a sour note.

Hope you enjoyed you soiree the other evening, if you went in fancy
dress I'm guessing it was as Bertie Wooster!!

Regards
Paul

My Dear Paul! A fan of the classics, are we? Oh my, I fear that you took my poetic license at its word. Just a party, dear Paul, just a party. But, in fact, a very good one. Perhaps you are a Brit - one shouldn't assume these days, after all - and had only the original frame of reference to hang that on. I shall endeavor to be slightly less broad with my verbal brushstrokes. (By the by, if it had been, I would have gone as Anthony Blanche.)

Yes, I'm afraid that it does not surprise me at all that dear Phillip would have me running hither and yon, striking attitudes in all sorts of absurd settings. It is not a matter of hate, I wouldn't say that at all, but our relationship was contentious, at least. I would liken it to a little brother who wants something from his elder brother - a baseball mitt, say - but the elder refuses and, worse still, teases the younger about it. All in good sport. And if, under the right circumstance, the younger brother were to come into possession of something the elder wanted - or even more appropriately, was able able make the elder think he had - I'm sure he would put the shoe on the other foot, so to speak.

You guess correctly that the missive means nothing to me (as yet), but I do believe that looks like young Phillip's scrawl. Couldn't swear to it, but it certainly could be.

And you is the little man holding our fortunes? One of your able crew, no doubt. I do hope he didn't have to risk limb AND life in the middle of the street to get at this. A sure let down, if he did.

Regarding our shrew of vapors, I shall only remind you of what you no doubt already know; oracles spew crap. Her comment could mean anything, in the right light, up to and including that young Phillip was sitting in a turf-roofed viking villa in Norway.

QS

Note that it should be who is the little man, not "you"...unless a very obtuse clue.
Mort, I'll let you tell Jade that QS has referred to him as a "little man" Wink
.....and it's obvious, if it wasn't before, that he really doesn't like Ctrix Evil or Very Mad

…pay my taxes, because these audits do nothing but chap my hide. And I'm not even the one getting audited, the Foundation is. Nothing bad or shady or anything like that, just the normal annual stuff that goes along with getting much of your funding from donors and trusts. But it means that all the ducks have to be crossed and the eyes have to be all in a row. (That has the makings of a gruesome fairy tale.)

So, there's been a lot of that and not much time for the normal caseload or the open cases, and everyone's on it. I did have a thought about the MSG4 stuff, though, yesterday while I was making sure all the expense sheets were written on the right type of paper. I was thinking about how Mort has said that he and the uC folks had already given thought to "Genesis" actually being part of what the message might be trying to say, but that there had been nothing conclusive. I was trying to remember exactly how those search terms came together (since I didn't have anything I could reference at the time) and I couldn't get it. So I searched again later when I had a chance (searched on "duke" "manchester" "confusion") and I noticed that all four of the words that are outside the square on MSG4 show up on the same CD.

Obviously, that seemed kind of odd and connected, but I haven't been able to grab how it might fit. Still thinking on it, but if anyone from the uC or the other folks sees this and has an idea, I hope you'll give a yell.

Now it's back to the double entries…

Which we noticed in chat but couldn't figure out its significance.

What CD is this?

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. I shudder to think this might all come back to 80s soft rock.
