[OSC] [TRAILHEAD] Operation: Sleeper Cell
You know, that Cancer Research ARG

As tweeted by mac monkey...

"The Agency" is recruiting, eh? *cough* Razz

Anyway, from the page you get after inputting your email, for those who are email-giving-averse...

Quote:
CONGRATULATIONS!

You've just made one of the best decisions of your life. Seriously, you have. You'll love working for The Agency.

That's who we are. The Agency. You've probably never heard of us, but that doesn't mean you haven't seen some of what we do. Actually, there's a chance you might not have seen that either. I'm not doing this very well am I? It's a bit tricky explaining what you do when it's all supposed to be hush-hush, isn't it?

Anyway, I'll not go in to detail here, but we're a top secret organisation devoted to making the world a lovelier place. As part of that, we've got some Sleeper Agents hidden around the country. Unfortunately, we've, uh, 'misplaced' them. We think you can help us to find them. That's right: you. Plus every single other person out there. (Sorry if that doesn't make you sound special enough.)

Hang on, I know what you're thinking: What's in it for me?

Well, once your task is completed, we'll start to train you as one of our Agents, working alongside some of the 'best' in the business. Then, you'll get to use these skills in order to spread loveliness across the globe and combat very nasty things. And we might even give you some free biscuits. If you're lucky.

Now about that task we want you to do...

Here is a short piece of lovely music for you to download, which has been created specifically as a ringtone. That's not to say of course that this is the only use for it. For example it might sound quite nice mashed up with some old blues tunes, with you scratching over the top. Please don't let us reign in your creativity. But just don't eat it, whatever you do. Sound files aren't as tasty as biscuits and cake.

We need you to use this tune to help make contact with your fellow trainee Agents, but more importantly to signal to our Sleeper Agents that we need their help and that it's, well, time for them to wake up. Anybody could be one of our Agents, and the only way that we can make sure we reach them is to get this wake up tune played as widely as possible. The more people who hear it, the more Agents we'll have at our disposal and the more networked they'll be, which will will make our lives so much easier. By the way, whilst you're a captive audience, if you want to encourage any of your friends to sign up as Agents and help us out, we also wouldn't mind one bit. We're sure your friends are as lovely as you are.

Once you've downloaded the ringtone and are in the process of playing it to loads of people whilst conducting your daily business, sit tight for further instructions which we'll send to your e-mail address. We'll be ready to begin your proper training soon. I can feel the world already becoming lovelier... Thank you once again for your help in this important Operation!

do we get the same ringtone? The url for mine seemed quite unique, plus the sound, well, sounds like it is randomly generated in parts?

I've uploaded mine here:

Sounds the same as the one I got. The opening 10 seconds are really the bit that sounds random, and unfortunately that's all I'd hear as a ringtone, so I won't be setting it up on my phone.

This looks good, a heavily biscuit-based arg (and hello to batgirl and all).

I wonder if there is any way we can get the 'ringtone' broadcast on the radio...
