Actually, no. Jordan is not leaving 42 at all, he is just concurrently developing S&T on the side. Personally speaking, Elan, Sean and Jim are already missed.

wha? when did this happen?
linkedin.com shows him as currently:
Founder / Chief Designer at Fourth Wall Studios
Interaction Director, Founder at Edoc Laundry
With past including 42E... can't find any news about Sean or Jim though.
That's too bad... I really hope they continue in the industry, they've done some amazing things to get it going, it would be a shame if they moved o to other things now.

Wait, isn't 42entertainment opening new offices soon ?
Oh, wait, the original article says that.
Well, that's sad. At least they'll still be in the industry.

I guess this news all but kills the proposed Cathy's Book sequel...

Woo! Many congrats to Elan, Jim, & Sean - leaving a solid company to head off on your own is a scary thing to do. I'm thrilled that they're going to be able to focus on new projects and can't wait to see what all they come up with - personally, I'm hoping for some great books with some fantastic real world elements
It's strange to think that Elan & Sean won't be at 42, but how many meta discussions have we had on ARGs being a team effort? Hundreds? I'm not too worried and expect that we'll continue to see and experience solid stuff from them.
Really, as far as the overall ARG picture is concerned, I think this is amazing news. 42 will probably be continuing with promotional work. Fourth Wall Studios sounds like it will be exploring more independent ideas. And then there's Smith & Tinker which sounds like toys. Really, this is just giving us more companies to make ARG like stuff (and push them out in different directions) - this is a good thing.
Happy Day!

For an idea of where Elan (and assumedly Fourth Wall) is headed, I found [this great video of a presentation of his ] posted recently on youtube. Really well done

I assume this won't have an affect on 42, other than them not being there?
This is the first time that I know of it's officially been said that Year Zero was a 42 project. I was under the impression they avoided revealing the projects they work on until they are over.
Although this is probably just an oversight on fourthwall's part it would be nice to know that this is not going to hurt any existing 42 projects.

It seems 42 is getting more relaxed with that -- Elan owned up to the Dark Knight campaign after the first "stage" of it.

Totally agree, Brooke: this is exactly what we should hope to see in this space -- bright people taking their experiments out in a variety of different paths. Congratulations to everyone involved on their exciting new directions, and congratulations to everyone here at UF. Why? Because this seems like a good indicator of more high quality experiences instead of fewer
