here is what i have so far. i can't tell you if the spelling is correct or if it matters. i have not had any luck in finding the name for the last symbol.

I can match all the symbols to this graphic, the only one that doesn't appear to match is "Men".

It appears to be "match the glyph to the month" game. I've looked up a couple other sites for mayan month glyphs and have noticed some spellings differ from the graphic in the above post. One site shows variants for a couple of the months.

Look here for some examples of what I mean.

yeah, I've seen several different spellings for all the glyphs, which leads me to believe that its not what we are supposed to insert. Just an observation.

[INFO] Mayan Day Glyphs

They seem to be using that same pdf source (famsi.org glyph guide link) as was used for the card game.
Attached are images "Days-Sacred Alamanac of 260 Days" as it appears on that pdf, and an edited version of just the glyphs used.

eta: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tzolkin gives different spellings and the meaning of each.
01 Imix' = waterlily
02 Ik' =wind
03 Ak'b'al =darkness, night, early dawn
04 K'an = maize
05 Chikchan = celestial snake
06 Kimi' = death
07 Manik' = deer
08 Lamat = Venus
09 Muluk = jade, water
10 Ok =dog
11 Chuwen = monkey
12 Eb' = rain
13 B'en = green/young maize
14 Ix = jaguar
15 Men = eagle
16 Kib' = wax
17 Kab'an = earth
18 Etz'nab' = flint
19 Kawak = storm
20 Ajaw = lord, ruler

Perhaps we need to use the spelling from the card game table? Some of the letters are difficult to make out, and they aren't in the correct order around the circle of the playing table, but I think they are (in order) Yimx Ymix, Yk, Akbal, Kan, Chicchan, Cimi, Manyk, Lamat, Muluc, Oc, Chen, Eb, Been, Hijx, Meen, Cyb, Caban, Etnab, Cauac, Ahau.

Hey, I just realized there aren't five text entry fields, there are twenty. So, I think we have to put the names of all the day glyphs in but I keep getting the undefined page whenever I try anything.

By the way, maybe I'm just an idiot but I just noticed:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I thought that the text entry fields were meant for the page that says "You divinition is being process" but I just realized that they actually apear on the page with the actual glyphs.

More Mayan Research

Trying to figure out why some set of "tosses" lead to "unable to perform divination, throw again" vs. "the divination was successful" I came across some interesting info on wikipedia about Mayan divination:
Quote:
Each day of the Tzolk'in has a Patron Spirit who influences events. Ah K'in, the Mayan shaman-priest, whose title means "Day Keeper", read the Tzolk'in to determine the answers to yes/no questions as well as more complex questions involving health, wealth and family.<snip>

There are several forms of Maya Calendar divination employing the sacred coral seeds which each Calendar diviner carries in a small bag with crystals and 'other small things' <snip>

The Precolumbian Maya practiced a form of Bibliomancy, in which they would cast the seeds upon a calendar to determine the good and bad days for the year.

Precolumbian Maya employed and Modern Maya Ah K'in employ Sortilage, in which piles of four or five beans are counted from the current calendar day of the Sacred Round to arrive at the result.

I'm not sure if that helps, but it shows what we're doing..sorta.

I also wondered if the title of the page "follow the hozhq" is a clue to follow what is beautiful/light/good, and went on a search for which of the glyphs meant good things.
Here are a couple of links that explain the meaning of each glyph.
Twenty Day Names(link) &
"Each of the twenty days is linked to a different god in Mayan mythology" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tzolkin

I've never even heard of an ARG, much less played one. But, I've been watching you.

Has anyone tried typing in the meaning of the mayan symbol instead of its actual name, i.e., death instead of Kimi? Or the way our generation may translate it? Flint gives you fire. Maize is a defunct word for corn. Wax is used to make candles.

I admit, I'm lost. But if this has to do with Jericho, candles, corn, storm, Green, blah, blah. Would all make sense. Even deer would make sense since game has been so scarce.

You guys have fun and I'll continue watching you!

Welcome to unFiction, Skeeterbit.
Good idea.. why not give it a try yourself. Smile

I've been trying to play "name that glyph" using the names from the card table, but varying between naming all of them, to just the ones with four coral seeds, or 3 coral seeds/ 1 crystal combos, or just "Lamat" (Venus was important to the Mayan), but I keep getting that same undefined 404 page, too.

Could it be that the page isn't ready/set up to be solved yet? Sad

A month ago- hell- two weeks ago- I'd lean to the same idea as that last statement, driz. Despite the fact that the game is seamless, and I've seen no real "mistakes" thus far, I think it's ready. The only thing that still yet leans me to the thought of it not being done yet would be that AYAB wasn't registered until two or three days before we found it. If it wasn't registered, it couldn't exist, so we were right on Tooman's heels. Smile Maybe that's the case now, maybe not. I guess we won't know until we get to the next site, check the reg date, and see that it was registered in November... Wink

Off topic- thanks so much to all you Jericho fans for help and all the ideas you've offered. From someone who's been here since day 3 or 4- thanks for your help and patience with Mr. Tom Tooman. Smile Brownie

Thanks for the welcome drizjr.

I did try it myself, but I've no idea what I'm doing. If I didn't already feel that way, I would have after reading your post about coral seeds and crystal combos. Up until last week ARG is something I said when I was ready to pull my hair out. Needless to say, it didn't work. I even tried things like "love" in place of Venus since she was the goddess of love.

I keep getting the "divination is being processed" page and nothing ever happens.

Good luck folks!

A thought on the glymphs

Hey all!

I haven't been playing around with this part of the puzzle lately as its still somewhat confusing, but I had a thought and hopefully I'll explain it in a way thats not confusing. If someone has already done this than just disregard this but if not, perhaps it is worth a shot.

In the spirit of trying to find what is mssng I was thinking about the ajkin site and the Sacred Hat page that has the twenty glymphs on them. you have 20 mayan month glymphs and 20 text boxes correct? The glymphs always seem to stay in the correct order too right? Ok, so do the ones on the ajkin site. They always cycle in the same order as you move them in one direction. Now each glymph on the ajkin site has a Mayan number symbol next to each one which also changes when you cycle. Maybe I'm wrong, but the numbers do not seem to go in a particular order. So what I guess my question is is simply,

Has anyone tried to match each month and the number from the ajkin site too that of the glymphs on the Sacred Hat site?
For example, on the ajkin site the first glymph that comes up on the right side is "etznab" the number associated to it on the right is the mayan symbol for "2" So my thought is that each glymph on the Sacred hat site needs the number that is associated with it from the ajkin site. Either the number 2 itself, or the its word form "kaa"

Does that make any sense and if so, have you guys ever tried that?

i find that if you tab through the flash, it has an interesting pattern that results in nothing, but i could be doing something wrong.

It is an odd pattern, I thought maybe morse or something, tried mapping it out, it looked like a Baconian code for awhile, but nothing so far. Where does it go when its neither symbol or text box?
Is there a solve for this thing, or just wait for an update to make it (more) obvious?

Hey all, I've been kinda following along and trying a few random things. Has anyone checked to see if:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://sacredhatcasino.com/html/followthehozhq/throw.mp3

contains any hidden information? I couldn't find anything but I don't think I've seen the file posted.
