Well, living in the UK and hating action movies, I was only made aware of the trailer in July when something called "The Guide" did an article on the teaser. I googled Cloverfield and watched the trailer, and then, after a few months because I am vair vair nosy, I started to my own research. I read cloverfield clues almost every day, and went on every site possibly affiliated with the movie. However, little did I know, I had started investigating during a particuarly quiet period, so I didn't really get anywhere. Eventually,I got really bored and joined the forum that kept popping up in my searches to cheer me up. The rest is history!*

So to answer the question, I joined through Google out of boredom.

*Interestingly, the trailer was released not long after I joined, so I stopped being bored then.

Wow... Is it just me or are a LOT of the cloverfield people new... How many of you have played any other ARG? this does not bode well for the finds. I wish we could get some veterans in here... unless of course there's really nothing to find, which, in my mind, is quite possible in this ARE unfortunately. No offense of course =P

I lurked the year zero ARG for a while, then when i saw the transformers movie i saw the 1-18-08 trailer. Googled, heard that it was a viral marketing campaign, so i checked out the forums, and sure enough. and yalah.

I was very active on one site and lurked on several other sites during the whole LOST arg, UnFiction included.

So when I knew there's a Cloverfield arg, just came here straight away to check it out.

then I joined a facebook group called: 1-18-08 / cloverfield

Was here before Cloverfield, but after konamouse. Started with Perplex City and my first post was complete nonsense, it explains that I arrived via the Firebox catalogue. Start how you mean to go on eh?
