Has any trusted members of UF received these letters yet?

It just seems that the people who found these mysterious letters had low post counts and could simply be someone game jacking using multiple accounts.

I'd like more confirmation before jumping all over this as IG.

As I mentioned in the previous thread, I'll be receiving my own Slusho merch in the mail soon, so I will confirm one way or the other when it happens, but until then (or there after), it'd be nice to have some other confirmation as well.

I am right there with you brutha or sista? Although I agree with breaking it down and these guys did a killer job, I remain skeptical. As soon as a trusted member of UF gets a letter, then the letter in my opine is def IG.

And no offense to the OP's, but gamejacking is an absolute with Viral etc. Just take a look at the list or GJ sites on the stickies.

Good job on the translation - WORD!

only problem is that since this one is dated back to the first hack, there's the possibility that it will change since the second. someone pointed out last night that a new item has been added to the slusho store, and it's my thought that we'll need to buy that next to get the next clue.

IMHO, i think we should treat this as in game, currently, lest we miss another clue. let's work this all the way to the end before we say it's a dead end.

and i promise, i am in no way part of a gamejack Very Happy

Another quick thought -

If Teddy is the Whistle Blower, why wouldn't he contact Jamie to get his message out? If he's somewhere where he can watch the videos she sends, couldn't he also send her a message? Seems like slipping a note into a t-shirt delivery is a roundabout way of contacting the outside world - like those joke fortune cookies that say "help, I'm trapped in a fortune cookie factory!"

Well, they are controlling all outcoming mail now. It's easier to monitor all the internet of a closed drilling station than to check the all the tshirt packages before they get on the truck.

And if this is a gamejack I say we gather our pitchforks and torches.

I'm pretty sure it isn't a gamejack, and the only way to confirm it would be to buy something and see if I get a piece.

Which I am not about to do.

If this is the approach they're taking, I can't believe that this would be a VITAL clue to this ARG/E. They would not, and should not, expect people to fork over money in order to advance the game itself.

If anything, this is corraborating evidence to what we may already know, or perhaps a means to get more people in on this ARG/E (but, then again, is there someone out there that knows about the Slusho! site but *not* the ARG/E?!?). But I refuse to believe it's a necessary piece for advancement.

The letter only points out that Chuai is a bad place and something is going wrong; if you've been on these forums long enough, you pretty much knew that already. Considering they're two months late in opening was a big enough clue to me.

Can anyone else confirm that their box had been ripped and taped over, as the first poster had said of his Slusho! packaging?

(sorry if this has been asked and answered, but I didn't see it anywhere)

To those who worked so hard to translate this, and to those who found and posted it: kudos, props, and any other words of appreciation you can think of.

I'm getting my aunt to order me a Slusho! shirt for Christmas. She wanted to know what to get me...I told her. Cool Very Happy

Even if it isn't real, it doesn't really give any new information. We already knew something was going to happen at the site closest to NY and we knew that there are people trying to stop Tagruato from doing whatever they are doing. Now if the memo itself says something then we could something worthwhile here. It would make sense if they didn't put anything too mindblowing on this paper (if it is IG) since not everyone would have access to the information.

Edit: I also don't think the whistle blower is Teddy because it would be weird for him to address to "American" if he is American also.

I mentioned the same thing in the the thread when they were trying to do the translation. I think this is to get more people involved in the game rather than to give new info. You would assume more of the hardcore players have bought their shirts months ago.

I've asked before and I will ask again now: doesn't UF capture the IP addresses of posters? If so, modly powers should be sufficient to view them, and from there we can get a rough idea of where the posters were posting. If all three are in the same city, the gamejack potential jumps; if they aren't, the same is true for IG status. I don't want the ips, nor do I want to know where the posters are, but could some mod check on this and maybe give us a rough idea? I'd really like to believe this stuff is legit.

Edit: and obviously, if the IPs are the same for two or more of them, it's a gamejack with no questions asked.

It should not be up to the moderators to do that; it should be up to the puppetmasters to ensure there is no doubt.

seconding the ip idea if its possible. Peoples valueable time is at stake. and as for it being up to the pm's to tell us, if its at all possible to receive help from elsewhere why reject it.

BTW: It wouldn't be the first time they do something along the lines of a composite memo... remember TLE's "Spider Protocol" memo?

Oh, god, people, it isn't a gamejack. And if it was, don't you think they would have put something a little juicier in there?

It's obviously something they packaged with it just to make us run around in circles going OMGOMGOMG. :O There really isn't no new information, it's more of a setup for future little hints and such.

Just be happy something like this happened... it happens so infrequently.

there may not be any new information

but it does confirm some suspicions. it seems that chuai station is at least close to operable, if not fully functional, regardless of what the tagruato site says.

it also tells us that there's definitely dissent among the ranks at tagruato.

i don't think we should count this out as teddy, yet, either. i'm new to uF, and relatively new to this whole thing, but i believe the fourth video was posted shortly before the first hack. if it was discovered that someone was internally challenging their company, and they closed off all communication as it says on the front side of the memo, then teddy would not be able to call jamie. even if this particular Whistle Blower, as he calls himself, is not teddy, i think he almost certainly is involved with bringing tagruato down from the inside.

and again, i urge you all to look at my last post on this topic. i believe the packaging will change in light of the second tagruato hack, and the new item in the slusho store.

I just ordered another shirt. basically to see what comes with it.

know i'm not here long enough or contributed much to be considered "trusted", but I'm as hyped up about this as anyone and really want a note of my own.
