[SPEC][HUMOR] Cloverfield reference on tonight's 30Rock?
Don't worry, it's not a 30Rock spoiler for those who care

On tonight's 30Rock, Kenneth the Page shows Tracy a crayon drawing from his dream journal. It's of a huge green monster destroying NYC, and it's being attacked by jets! Then he says, "they've all come true so far..."

Does anyone else think that this is a sly Heroes/Slusho-esque reference? And if not, is there anyone else who thinks that this is the best show EVER?!?

Not sure if it is a Cloverfield reference (although there's a small chance, Heroes is on NBC as well), but 30 Rock is definitely an awesome show. Still, anything referencing a monster at this point could be stretched to "fit" Cloverfield.

Best show ever? Hell no. Good show? Yes. Sly Cloverfield reference? Maybe, but I'm not sure whether Tina Fey would write it as such, given Tracey Jordan's dubious mental state. Still, is possible.

I don't think 30 Rock is anywhere near good, but that could be a Cloverfield reference.

30 rock is awful... Tina Fey is so lame, she shouldn't write for anything.
Alek Baldwin is kind of funny, but he's so full of himself, it ruins it.

Yeah, my wife definitely gave me a dirty look when I laughed out loud at Kenny's drawing and said, "Cloverfield monster!?!?"

Concur, except when Baldwin was on SNL with Sandler as canteen boy, high-larious. Tina Fey should have had her pens taken away long ago though.

Well it's better than that studio 30 on the Sunset Strip show or whatever it's called. God I hate that show. Twisted Evil

Okay, you people are weird. I love[d] Studio 60, then they canceled it. I like (not love, it's growing on me) 30 Rock. They're both very funny shows, and Studio 60 has the added bonus of being also a very good dramatic show.

Meh, each to his own. Even if I can't understand it.

I think the writing on 30 Rock is great because there are always subtle jokes that are hilarious if you know what they are talking about. That may be one reason why so many people have such strong negative feelings, because if you do not catch the subtle jokes, the show does not seem as funny.

With you on both counts. Studio 60 was just starting to really get good. Think the ensemble was just too large maybe. 30 Rock has made the wife and I laugh out loud many times. Both much better than most of the drivel out there...

Kinda like Aqua Teen Hunger Force. (Ok, I use the term "subtle" slightly liberally here... the term "slightly" too.)

agreed. 30Rock reminds me of the fast, subtle humor of Arrested Development. But I can understand if you don't like the kind of oddball style Tina and her gang assume.
