definitely a vaild point, that could be. I just dont get the yelling and the expanding. Maybe a monster comes from near the light source and forms the shadow that makes it look like the person in the middle expands. Now thats a stretch

One problem I have with speculating on the scenes from the trailer is that production companies have a habit of misrepresenting theirs films through trailers like these. I think our expectations are being manipulated especially through the use of unrelated sound effects dubbed over dramatic moments shown in rapid succession. It wouldn't surprise me if there were no "sucking", "slurping" or "expanding" noises in this scene when viewed in the context of the entire movie. Probably this scene just has some tense music and grunting sounds coming from the hazmat guys.
You know that somewhere the people that put this trailer together are laughing their asses off at us.

Or the monster that came out of the girl grabbed the right guys arm so he's punching him while the left guy is about to run away but is grabbed by either the girl, right guy or monster so he turns.

If it weren't for the sounds accompanying this scene, the silhouette looks like she's taking off a coat if she was wearing one. Like she's turning and as she turns she grabs the coat near the collar and pulls it open, which would place her elbows where they are. I'm not saying that's what I think it is, just that I can kinda see that.

Well, judging from the image only... and no sounds...

I see four people.

THe dude that we can see, who is doing his bestest to ignore 'sploding girl.

There is two people in hazmat suits, and one girl between them.

We see the hazmat person on the right draw back and either punch, or inject, or puncture the girl.

The guy on the left turns suddenly looking at the girl as she starts to puff up.

We can assume there is an impact when w/e happens happens, because you can see the girl jerk back and her hair flies about.

You can then see that the scientist to the left is either holding the girl's... somethign, or that he has his arm crooked and she is holding on to him.

To me though, the arm looks odd on her. /shrug


He, and another possibility... other than the girl swelling and getting ready to explode, could be that somehow she just got cut right down the middle, and that is the front part of her body opening up to either side. (i know, I know, thats about as likely as.... ummm. A girl exploding. Yeah. )

Either way, I think that scene is only going to end in tears. lol.

Seems pretty obvious that either A: there is a creature inside her that is gestating rapidly and going to burst, or B: the creature that had attacked her has given her some sort of affliction that is causing her to burst. In either case, she is screaming, and expanding at an exponential rate and is indeed going to rupture. Right before the video cuts, it plays a very obscene wet, gory noise. Expanding + gory sound effect = rupture. Of course, she could just be made out of rubber and have a helium tank in her pants and the gory noise is really just someone trying to get cranberry jelly out of a can.

If you replay the trailer, hazmat person on the left is pulling her to the left. Hazmat L is looking left, the direction they are moving. Hazmat L does not look back (to the right) towards the person in the center until she is just beginning to expand. Watch it frame by frame. Hazmat R is trying to control her from getting away and has her either by the upper forearm or around the elbow. If you're trying to keep someone from moving or getting away, you're going to give them as little wiggle room as possible. Grabbing them on the lower forearm or around the wrist gives someone too much room to jerk around.

The light source is behind them, in the background, the direction you are looking and the light source is facing your (the viewers') direction There is no creature, because it could not be in the foreground, directly behind the tarp; there are hospital gurneys. Nor is there any creature in the background, behind the 3 people, around the light source. If there was a creature past them, closer to the light source, the creature would project a bigger shadow over the tarp than the 3 people. If there was a monster there, you would easily be able to see it.

So it's two hazmat people holding a girl between the two of them, as they walk left, past a lamp and in front of hospital gurneys, which are directly in front of the tarp.

But back OT, I do like the OP's analysis of the scene.
