Well hopefully he is just editing stuff. It would be a weird way to send a message.

WTF! What happened

Can't believe I spent the whole day reviewing this. Reread this whole thread. Watched all the videos again and plotted co-ordinates on Google Earth. Now I read these last few post and go to recheck http://www.bullerman.net/ and this is what I find:

Page title Are you tired?

Code:
Hey guys, I messed up. I guess it was bound to happen; this was the first time I tried making an ARG. I'm not upset or anything and I hope you aren't either. Things were just getting a little too overboard when things about real life were mentioned. I guess I never expected it from this community because I have never had any troubles here. I thought the whole point was to have fun and become immersed in a game; not try and find the puppetmasters mistakes and find out who he is in real life. Anyway, I apologize for messing up.

A>

I was really enjoying this game.

See.. I wasnt going to post it for that EXACT reason I knew this would happen... My amateurish mistake for posting it.. I feel bad now.. but then again he went and posted all our ips which upset me.. so I lashed out...

Ayeso, I don't see how you did anything wrong. He's the one who posted his own IP address; anyone with Google access can figure out how to trace an IP address. It's not like we actively went looking for the guy in real life.

NOOOOO!!!! This sucks! This was one of the few I've been in lately that hadn't melted quickly! I really thought we were going to see this one til the end! I thought this game was really good!!! We Mr. PM, please know that you were doing a fine job. Please don't let this stop you from creating other games for us to enjoy in the future.

Yup.. but i broke through the password... then googled the ips then posted it here.. probably shouldnt have... I know as soon as those ips went up others searched it too but I was REALLY enjoying it.. I was just bored at work.. and found a lead... so i followed it, it just happened to be a Real life lead ..

Well, that makes two of us. I thought that was the point of these games. For that matter, when I saw the IPs, I genuinely believed they were another clue.

Even so, the only RL info that was released was his IP and the company it traces to. Unless he's actually using his real name, it's not like anyone'd be able to actually find him. So he accidentally released a minor piece of real data - I don't understand why that means calling off the whole game.

He was doing such a good job.

hey

hey, i know its against terms to post in my own arg thread. I just wanted to apologize for posting IPs. Ha, it bit me in the butt though. Nobody did anything wrong here per say. I just didn't like it that chasing after the puppetmaster was the goal. Nobody "hacked' anything. All was given. The passwords were very easy but were part of the story that wasn't figured out yet. Honestly, I have been at this point in an ARG as well, I found something in real life and I knew it was real life.... I didn't post it. Thats the only thing I didn't like. Its not a big deal though. I guess I'll learn to cover up my tracks better if I ever make another ARG.
