Well, that makes two of us. I thought that was the point of these games. For that matter, when I saw the IPs, I genuinely believed they were another clue.

Even so, the only RL info that was released was his IP and the company it traces to. Unless he's actually using his real name, it's not like anyone'd be able to actually find him. So he accidentally released a minor piece of real data - I don't understand why that means calling off the whole game.

He was doing such a good job.

I agree... he posted my ip... and you could easily find my company from it.. I dont see the huge deal.. noone knows his name or anything We know a company from which the posting were made thats it. We also know where I work and a few others do now as well... no big deal. PM if you are reading this please continue *You obviously are reading this as you know about everything that is going on*

hey, i know its against terms to post in my own arg thread. I just wanted to apologize for posting IPs. Ha, it bit me in the butt though. Nobody did anything wrong here per say. I just didn't like it that chasing after the puppetmaster was the goal. Nobody "hacked' anything. All was given. The passwords were very easy but were part of the story that wasn't figured out yet. Honestly, I have been at this point in an ARG as well, I found something in real life and I knew it was real life.... I didn't post it. Thats the only thing I didn't like. Its not a big deal though. I guess I'll learn to cover up my tracks better if I ever make another ARG.

Another thing was somebody tried to request my password through the webhost I used. That kinda freaked me out. I guess its all part of the game; but I didn't think it was right.

Like I said.. I regretted it after but I was upset about my IP being posted due to the nature of my work...

Its not against the terms to post here ONCE the game is over.. so I guess it is ok now although I am rather upset the game is over Sad I didnt think it would be a big deal and it wasnt even a for sure thing.. it was just a guess based on process of elimination...

You should REALLY continue, we can all forget this happened!

If you guys are still willing to play and don't think I ruined it too bad, I would love to keep going. Have quite a bit of story left; I know, the puzzles are lame sometimes but have ideas that were in progress. This was really fun. If you can look past my mistakes and people still want to play, I would really like that.

Thanks for posting - at least we know you're reading this.

Look, we're sorry we pointed out that piece of RL information; I didn't see harm in it because it was only a company name, but it probably shouldn't have been said at all. However, I think you've been doing a fantastic job with this, and I'm sure I speak for others when I say I'd really like to continue.

If you're worried about the private information, we can edit it out of the post. We can certainly forget this conversation ever happened and get back in character. (I can't be the only roleplayer here - we've all done this. Smile

So please, if you have it in you, keep running. You're doing a great job.

I agree.. few args actually continue on or have this much thought and detail put into them, please continue...

I edited all posts containing personal info or IPs..

I'd also like to tack on a "YES." While I've been mostly lurking, I've been impressed with the high production values and pacing. I've worn out my F5 key trying to keep up with some of the breakneck developments.

I'd be willing to buy a new keyboard if you're willing to keep producing.

(And for the record, that's part of the way ARGs go - what's infringing personal space in one game is a necessary step in another. Some games have required getting hold of character passwords and the like... it can be tough to affirmatively discern what's in and out of game in this medium).

Thanks guys, really appreciate the compliments. I'm trying to make the game as best as I can; kinda hard with a real life job and all. I'm sure you all know Smile I hope to keep the game going and developing the story and updating regularly. Thanks for the understanding. Last post for me...back in game!

Tidus, thank you. As for the puzzles, personally I consider the whole game a puzzle. I like solving the mystery as much as solving any puzzle. I think you are doing a great job. Take your time. We understand you have a life other than ARGs.
