Awesome! Now maybe we can really get somewhere with this thing!

Areia: I was wondering that as well, and in fact I tried the same thing with a state map of Iowa, but although I could see how it fit fairly well, I was more unsure because the X's didn't line up with anything in particular. Any luck on your end?

Maybe someone could ask him if he really did think it was a map of Iowa. Getting OOG here, the PM probably wouldn't want to lead us completely astray.

And I'm so glad that we finally have someone in Iowa! How cool is that?

New Video

Someone posted a video on Jeff's blog. I dont think it was Jeff because the label says "jefflook".

The video contains a lot of the numbers from the anonymous comment flashing and there are also small words in the background.

What do you guys think?

Hmm...it SAYS it was posted by Jeff, but I think you're right that it wasn't. It EXACTLY contains the same numbers of the anonymous commenter. The only difference is the couple of instances where there is a white line that looks like a word has been whited out. I have no idea what to make of this. The sounds may have something to do with it as well, I just can't figure it out.

The text of the video, as far as I can tell is:
Quote:
6th 32nd 7th [white box] beginning 4th 32nd [white box] 7th 4th 1st 7th

Where the text of the anonymous quote is
Quote:
6th 32nd 7th beginning 4th 32nd 7th 4th 1st 7th

{edit}So yeah, minus the white boxes they're the same.{/edit}
The audio sounds like DTMF tones. I'm working on decoding that now, but don't let that stop everyone else from working on it to.

In the background when the first white box is shown it looks like the pi symbol is shown. Also at the very beginning of the video there is a word before 32nd. I just assumed it said 6th but I cant be sure.

Does anyone know how to download the videos so we can edit them or zoom in on certain things?

I'm pretty sure it's said 6th as well. Making it the same as the comment.

EDIT: Nextday, you're right. The background definitely changes for the 1st white box but not for the second. It does look like a Pi symbol. They could be letters as well like I, T, E, or C, but Pi seems to fit better.

You're right, good eyes. Altering my post to reflect that.

If the white boxes are dashes, it could be a phone number. The DTMF tones are certainly a clue to that, and the format XXX-XXX-XXXX fits. I'm just not sure what to make of the numbers and the word "beginning".

I was definitely thinking phone number as well. "Beginning" could just be 0 but I don't know what to do with 32nd.

It's digits of pi. I'm assuming "beginning" refers to the 3.

I called and this is definitely it. It's too distorted for me to make out anything and I can't capture audio from my cell phone, but there's some sort of message on the voice mail there.

Ok, so it's a landline in Seattle. I thought maybe Steve was trying to get in touch with us but now I'm not so sure. I'll try to record the audio to my Mac and see if I can make anything out.

{EDIT} So I'm pretty positive it's backwards. It is still really hard to make out but I think I heard, "If you still have not taken the medicine" towards the end. I'm gonna keep working at it.

From my quick listen over my phone, it sounds as though the file was dirtied up and quite likely reversed.
