Um, if the hack is OOG you would have seen it on some sort of movie news site somewhere...Headlines of "JJ's Viral Marketing Plan Crashed?" Would be all over the big movie places..I mean honestly, the most hyped movie since forever has it's biggest marketing ploy hacked and you don't see it ANYWHERE?...Seriously...This site is DEFINITELY IG.

Most hyped movie since forever? Definitely not. The most recent trailer helped bring it out into the open, but i still think that outside of the unfiction forums this movie is not nearly as popular as we seem to think it is. Still popular, but not "most hyped movie since forever" status.

I know. I read that when it was posted the first time. Yet out of all the times i've worn slusho gear in public i have not once gotten as much as a question of what it is.
When i saw the trailer during "The Mist," i was the only one that made any noise before or after it played. I just don't see this being an enormous movie. A cult classic in my book.

Yeah I know a few people who know about it and only one other guy who keeps up on all this.

I'de say Iron Man and the Dark Knight are already more hyped than Cloverfield.

I'm sure you guys already know this; I've only been following since this morning and am trying to catch up: Tagruato's old name was "The Hand of Power". Sorry if this is old new. I just saw some people talking about their old name.

Edit: Nevermind, somebody already has. Ignore.

Just to play devils advocate,
If this is an IG site, then how come the posts only started on Nov 21st?
The members of the site claim to have been working for awhile, so how come they just got a website?

That was my reasoning behind posting the code from the css - it's possible that this is either the PM group or contracted by them to do the web design.

Just a couple more random thoughts, not comments on IG/OOG, more META than anything.

'T.I.D.O. Wave' is clever, but as an acronym it is incomplete. It is never stated on the tidowave.com site what exactly it stands for. If you had never seen or heard of the hack on Tagruato, then the only mention of TIDOO you'd see is in the first statement:
Quote:
What is The T.I.D.O. Wave?

"Tagruato is destroying our oceans. We are The Wave, rising tall to crash over them and wash the filth away."

and nothing is capitalized to make the abbreviation apparent.

So what does the acronym abbreviate? Tagruato Is Destroying Our... Wave?

Also notice that this is a .com address. Wouldn't a group like this be a .org? Look at Greenpeace for instance - they have both .com and .org registered, but .com redirects to the .org so that it's clear that this is an organization and not a commercial entity. TIDO only has the .com registered.

Its been said that it could be the roman numerals that were on the animals spelling TIDO than the fifth roman numeral was the wave

I don't quite know what to make of this site yet... I'm leaning towards it being IG, especially considering the dates and the complexity of the site. But it just feels... well... weird.

I was thinking the same. Could there be an explanation for that?

Confused

Yes, that is correct, but that's not my point. Nowhere on the tidowave.com site (as far as I can tell) does it tell you what TIDO stands for explicitly. Assume that you never knew anything about the defacing of the Tagruato website. Would you know what TIDO was without having to think about the quote from Le Bandit Vert? Following that, it is only TIDO here, not TIDOO, so what is the acronym? Tagruato Is Destroying Oceans? Again, not saying IG or OOG, just my retentive side pointing out a little sloppiness.

Thats a good point. With Tagruato they labeled the press releases and such dating a while back.]

Yes, but as ive said before, that makes no sense. The only real reason for the way they named it, appears to naming themselves after the words on the hack.

Well, seeing how they also have the P.E.A.K. Offensive to save mountains and the D.R.A.I.N. Movement to save the rivers...T.I.D.O. Wave to save the oceans makes sense...And notice, PEAK was against Broad Golvanic and DRAIN GloboChem Labs...Neither one incorporated the name of the company into the acronym...So what if the T isn't for Tagruato?...Just a thought Wink

EDIT: If they were naming themselves after the hack on the site I would wholly expect the URL to be tidoo.jp . It would fit the hack better AND look like the rest of the .JP IG URLs.

Actually, is and our are words not included in most acronyms. It seems in this case they favored the "is" for pronunciation purposes. My two cents...

I think "T.I.D.O." is simply a way for the hackers to lead us to their or the hackers' site. TIDO itself is pronounced (tie-doh) so it can also be interpreted as "Tidal" in Tidal Wave.

I dunno what direction this influences, but here are some observations on the header.

Ganu's Horns are clearly not the same horns. The Dumbo Octopus is not exactly the same one. Not just minus the roman numeral. Other details are very similar, but not exact. Like an earlier draft or something. Or perhaps a copy and paste based on a lasso tool?
